THE WARNING RECEIVEDfrom the female Elf didn't please us much; Blair and I were left in awe, not having a precise idea of the danger of the situation. Above us, there's either death or at least a huge risk of ending up underground with a miserable tombstone and a bunch of wilted flowers.
However, the next day we didn't get discouraged and carefully explored the first floor - enduring deadly boredom - and then we moved to the ground floor. Most of it was easy to explore; many rooms were empty and unused, and only the kitchen took us some time... still yielding nothing. Nothing worthy of our attention or our dim hopes, nothing that looked like an error or set off our sixth sense.
"Did we go there?" Blair asks, nodding towards a library that can be accessed by turning right from the entrance.
Going straight ahead leads to the flights of stairs from which Gazazhel descended on the day of her triumphant appearance when we realized we were screwed.
"No, I don't think so."
We don't recognize much of the environment, a sign that we missed it and need to inspect it. The scent of ancient parchment reaches our brains, intoxicating us in seconds. We see dancing magical dust in the air, sneaking between the small spaces separating the books on the milk-white bookshelves.
