ECLIPTIC MANAGED TO give me a general idea of the Fairy palace when I connected with her, and I put all my effort into storing the information I'm now reporting to the attentive Daven. He listens to me silently, never interrupts, and has someone fetch a sheet of paper and a quill, sketching the outlines of a rough floor plan of the palace. The main thing is that I know where Bell is imprisoned: he is in a tower that is accessible only from the throne room.
We wait for Daven's thoughts, who turns the sheet around, muttering and making strange lines on his drawing. When an indeterminate amount of time has passed, he finally speaks.
"The ideal would be to send a trusted spy to study the layout, strategic points, and the habits of the sentinels."
Nightmare lights a triangular-shaped lamp, inside which the silhouette of a Fairy can be seen, and the violet rays it emits shed more light on our small table.
"This, I reiterate, is the ideal. In practice, we have little time, and improvising a functional plan is difficult..." He gives a little smile. "But not impossible."
Piper lands on the table, moving her blue-skinned legs clad in long striped stockings; as she bends towards the drawing, her wavy midnight-colored hair falls down. "But we remember the Fairy palace. Sweetie, come take a look!"
Lirael, Piper's lover, had landed on top of the triangular lantern. He lands, holding onto his green hat, from which his spiky black hair sticks out.
"Yes, it's a bit different from how you drew it, guest Daven."
