AUTHOR POV:
The next morning, Siya woke with a newfound confidence, feeling ready to embrace her future. She completed her morning routine and went to Raha’s room, finding her daughter sleeping peacefully. Smiling, she kissed Raha’s forehead and whispered, “Wake up, cutie! It’s morning. Don’t you want to show your friends the family tree we made yesterday?”
Raha’s eyes fluttered open, and with a sleepy smile, she kissed Siya’s cheek. “Good morning, Mommy!” she chirped. Siya returned her smile warmly, helping her get ready for school. After a bath, Siya dressed Raha in a cute outfit and styled her hair into an adorable look that Raha absolutely loved.
When they went downstairs, Rajveer was already waiting for them. To his delight, Raha looked up at him and said, “Good morning, Daddy!” It was the first time she’d greeted him so openly, and he beamed with happiness.
“Good morning, Raha,” he replied, full of pride. Noticing her hairstyle, he added, “Did you thank Mommy for this beautiful hairstyle?”
Raha quickly turned to Siya. “Thank you, Mommy!”
“There’s no need to thank me, sweetie,” Siya replied, her heart full of love.
Raha excitedly ran to show the staff her new hairstyle, saying, “Look! My mommy made my hair! Isn’t it pretty?” The staff were pleasantly surprised to see Raha speaking so confidently and complimented her hairstyle.
After breakfast,
As they headed toward the car, Rajveer’s driver, who had just arrived, greeted Raha. She shyly smiled but didn’t speak, then made her way back to Siya. They all got into the car to drop Raha off at school. Raha couldn’t wait to show her friends the family tree, feeling proud to tell them, *I have a mommy now, and she’s so pretty.*At school, they escorted Raha to her classroom, greeting her teacher. That’s when Siya noticed Jennifer and Aryan dropping off Advik. Jennifer ignored Siya, but Aryan was curious and seemed confused as he observed her with Rajveer. *What is she doing here with him?* he thought, recognizing Rajveer as the famous business tycoon with international success, even having won the Businessman of the Year award multiple times. *Is she trying to make me jealous?* Aryan dismissed the possibility, convincing himself Siya couldn’t have moved on so quickly. He wanted to question her, but before he could, Siya and Rajveer got into the car and drove off.
On the way, Rajveer looked over at Siya. “I want to talk about Raha. Would you mind coming to my office?”
“Not at all,” Siya replied, curious.
When they reached Rajveer’s company, Siya was impressed by the sleek, modern design of his office. Once inside his spacious cabin, Rajveer began. “Siya, I’ve noticed Raha has started speaking more to me and some of the staff, but we need to help her build confidence in her social interactions.”
Siya nodded thoughtfully. “I’ve been thinking about it too, but I’ll need to research ways to support her better. I’ll let you know what I find.”
Rajveer then leaned back. “So, what about your future plans? Now that you have some free time, have you thought about what you’d like to do?”
Siya’s eyes lit up. “I actually want to pursue my dream of becoming an interior designer. I even completed a degree in it a while back. I started studying while I was pregnant with Advik, but I kept it to myself because I knew my family didn’t want me working. Now, nothing’s stopping me.”
Rajveer smiled knowingly. “I knew about that,” he said, surprising her. “And I also know you’re talented with numbers and finance—you have a degree in financial management as well.”
Siya raised her eyebrows, surprised. “How did you know?”
Rajveer chuckled. “Well, I couldn’t consider hiring you without a background check, could I?”
Siya laughed, accepting the practicality. “Fair enough.”
Rajveer’s tone softened. “If you’re interested, I could use your help on some projects. It would be good experience for you.”
Siya pondered the offer, realizing it would be a great opportunity to gain more exposure. “I’d love that.”
Rajveer called his assistant and handed Siya a new project file. “This is for a hotel design. All the details are in here. You can start working on the layout and design right in my cabin.” He passed her an iPad to sketch her ideas, and Siya eagerly settled in, excited to begin her work.
As Siya dove into her project, Rajveer couldn’t help but feel happy that he’d be able to spend more time with her. At home, she was often preoccupied with Raha, so he cherished these moments together. After a while, noticing it was almost lunchtime, he asked, “Siya, would you like to have lunch?”
She looked up, curious. “Where?”
“In the cafeteria here. They have great food,” he suggested.
“Sounds good,” Siya agreed.
When they entered the cafeteria, employees glanced their way, surprised to see their boss and the woman rumored to be with him. As they looked over the menu, Rajveer suggested a few dishes. “I really like the chole bhature, pasta, and the veg thali.”
“I’ll try the veg thali,” Siya decided, and Rajveer paid with his cafeteria pass. They took their trays to a quiet corner to eat.
Midway through their meal, Siya looked at him slyly. “You planned to give me work today, didn’t you?”
Rajveer coughed, caught off guard. “How did you guess?”
She laughed. “Just a feeling.”
They chatted and finished their lunch, heading back to work with a renewed sense of companionship.

At school, Raha’s teacher praised each child’s family tree in front of the class. When it was Raha’s turn, she proudly showed her work, including a picture of her mommy, Siya. Advik spotted the photo and shouted, “That’s my mommy!”
The teacher corrected him gently. “No, Advik, that’s Raha’s mommy. You told us that Siya isn’t your mommy anymore.”
Hurt by the reminder, Advik’s face reddened with anger. He whispered something unkind to Raha, and her cheerful mood quickly shifted to sadness.
