Tame - Owen Grady One Shot

    She was your baby, she was small and adorable and you couldn't have beamed with giddiness anymore than you did in this moment. You were so happy that you called Barry up and even though he worked with the carnivorous Raptors he always listened to you carry on about your precious Edmontosaurus. It was no surprise though, you spent most of your time talking with him about them; your love for these animals knew no bounds.

"Barry!" you chirped into the receiver of your cell phone happily, after knowing him for over five years you were no longer the same shy woman you were with everyone else. Especially Owen, oh goodness let's not get started on the number of times you thought you embarrassed yourself in front of him.

"Yeah?" he laughed listening as you began your rant on how cute the babies were already, how you had already chose the smallest girls name and how much she meant to you already.

"You know, you sound like Owen when he first saw the Raptors" he was standing next said man who proceeded to argue with him in the background and you immediately quieted down to your normal shy muttering.

"I'll come see how t-the Raptors are doing once I, um, once I've finished giving everyone their medicine and food, bye Barry" you hung up quietly feeding the precious girl you named Yura and her siblings before seeing them off with a small kiss on the head.

You really didn't want to make a fool of yourself in front of Owen, you had a crush on him and felt like a helpless puppy in front of him which is why you kept so quiet all of the time. You were in your jeep, riding to the sounds of the park because the blasted radio broke years ago and you kept forgetting to fix it. You glanced at yourself in the rear-view and decided a quick stop by your shack was in order because you were not going over there looking like that.

"Why does she always talk to you like that and I get the shy soft-spoken girl?" Owen asked tossing a chunk of meat down to each one of his girls.

"Maybe because she works with the Herbivores and you work with the Carnivores" Barry shrugged but continued talking as they kept feeding "AND, you're the alpha so maybe you scare her or intimidate her" Owen didn't answer because now he contemplated that idea.

You were nervous, so incredibly nervous but you were going to talk to him even if it killed you. You laughed at the thought because anything and everything at this park could do that and you were more worried about talking to one man. You saw the Raptor pen come into view and you parked the jeep next to Owen's bike.

"Hey!" you smiled calling to the four girls in the pen that had come to the safety gate to see who had drove up. You weren't on their 'happy-to-see' list but you liked them none the less.

"How are they doing Barry?" you asked the dark skinned man as you approached his right side.

"Why don't you ask the alpha?" he pointed up because he knew how bad you needed to open up to Owen, he knew about your ever so obvious crush on the man.

"B-Barry" you whispered harshly but he only laughed shoving you towards the platform's ladder.

You climbed curing him with every step closer you took to the top, you were so going to mess this up, you could just feel it but you climbed anyways. You made it to Owen's spot but you didn't say anything as you watched him work with the girls, you had a soft spot for Blue but you couldn't place why she stood out so much to you until you heard the way he praised her.

"How are they?" you spoke softly and he grinned tossing the last piece at Blue who let out a grumbling sound as she ate.

"They are doing spectacularly, how are the Edmontosaurus?" he had turned to face you, his eyes piercing into yours and making your face turn red almost instantly but when you heard the question about your babies all of your shyness sort of vanished and you started to gush over them like he did with his.

"They are doing great, one of the older females just had a group hatch" you smiled "they are adorable!" you realized how close the two of you were now and stepped back.

He grabbed your arm and pulled you into him, you wanted to object but your body wasn't listening to your minds commands. He smelled like sweat and oranges? You were flushed and confused as you pulled away from his embrace.

"w-why?" you were looking away from him trying to find anything that was more interesting and would keep him from seeing the red spread across your cheeks.

"Because you're adorably shy and I really like your company" he smiled, well grinned as he pulled your face gently so you had to look at him.

"If I tame the alpha, the girls should like me, right?" you could not believe what just came out of your mouth and apparently neither could Owen because he laughed after becoming wide eye'd for a moment.

"That's how it works but, I'll tell ya, I'm not that easy to tame" he had pulled you close to him and whispered that into your ear and you all but melted into his arms.
