I already said goodbye to my mother and Charlie earlier this morning. Now, I was working on getting my suitcase to fit into the trunk of the car when I heard someone clearing their throat behind me. I turned and smiled when I saw Jacob standing there.

"Good morning, sunshine. Did Sam say you can come with me for Thanksgiving?" I asked, smiling when Jacob nodded.

"I don't know if it's because I imprinted on you or because it's the holiday season, but he was feeling extra generous." Jacob said while gently nudging me to the side so he could fix my suitcase into the trunk because I was struggling with it.

I smiled softly and he closed the trunk after slipping his own suitcase into the trunk as well. We got into the car and I ruffled my hair softly while I pulled out of the driveway. Because of traffic, the drive from one front door to the other took almost four hours. Jacob spent the whole time joking around, talking, or trying to make me laugh by singing along to whatever was on the radio at the moment. I let out a little sigh while I parked the car in the lot owned by the apartment complex my father lived in.

"Did you tell him I was coming?" Jacob asked me while he got our suitcases out of the trunk of the car.

"Well, he told me I could bring a friend and I told him I'd see if anyone was free. Why? Are you scared?" I teased playfully, closing the trunk since he insisted on dragging the suitcases to the elevator himself.

"I'm not scared. But I'm allowed to be nervous."

"Jacob, literally everyone loves you. Besides, my dad isn't a very scary person."

"Yeah, but most dad's would probably be uncomfortable with their daughter bringing a guy home."

"Well, I'm sure the two of you will have a bunch of things in common."

"Like what?"

"You both love me and hate my ex-boyfriend."

"That's a start." Jacob said while we got off of the elevator on the fourth floor.

There were only four 'luxury' apartments on each floor and they were each pretty spacious. My father got lucky when he was looking for an apartment after the divorce. I walked over to the right door, 4C, and didn't even bother to knock. Instead, I walked right in and dragged Jacob in behind me. Because we had left after noon and gotten caught in traffic, it was almost five and my father was in the kitchen working on our dinner.

"Hannah?" my father's deep voice asked while I was walking into the kitchen, not even turning around to make sure it was me.

"Daddy!" I ran towards him a bit and he hugged me tightly once I was in front of him, he let me go after a few seconds and looked over at Jacob, "Jacob, this is my dad. Dad, this is my Jacob."

They both rolled their eyes at what I said and shook each other's hand politely. My father looked a little confused, most likely because of how hot Jacob's hand was and I tried not to laugh at how nervous my best friend looked.
