There are few things in this world that I enjoyed more than Jacob's muscular arms around me. Right now, we lay naked in his bed while he gingerly placed kisses onto my shoulder blade. I wouldn't have traded this sweet moment for anything. A small sigh left his mouth and I looked over at him, a bit confused.
"Princess, does your mother know that I imprinted on you?" he asked me quietly, obviously a little worried about the situation that we had found ourselves in.
"I don't think she knows what imprinting is." I answered honestly before turning around just a bit in order to actually look at him.
We were face-to-face and I was able to see that there was a small line furrowed between his eyebrows. I bit down on my bottom lip softly while I looked him over briefly. It was obvious that he was struggling to say something. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to find the right words.
"Jacob, what's wrong?" I asked him quietly, placing one of my hands on the side of his face.
"I was just wondering what we should do."
"What are you talking about?"
"Your mother definitely isn't going to be happy with me any time soon after she walked in on us having sex." He answered honestly.
"We weren't having sex."
"I was literally seconds away from being inside of you." He teased while nudging me playfully and making me roll my eyes.
"Well, she doesn't necessarily know that."
"At least we can lie and say that we've been safe."
"We usually are." I defended as I stretched out my limbs a bit in order to get more comfortable, almost falling off of the bed in the process until Jacob grabbed me easily.
"In all the times we've had sex, we've used a condom exactly once." He teased again, making me roll my eyes.
"Other than our sex life, what is this all about?" I asked him as I cuddled closer towards his broad chest.
"I'm just worried about us. It's not like our relationship could go anywhere if your mother doesn't even feel comfortable about us being alone together." He told me, finally letting me know that he was truly uncomfortable with the situation that we had found ourselves in.
"You're right. We should just run away together." I joked with a small laugh at the thought, obviously not serious about this idea.
"I definitely wouldn't be opposed to that." He told me as he wrapped his arms tighter around me, surprising me and making me look at him with shock written across my face.
"Jacob, I wasn't being serious..."
"But why can't we be serious?" he began to say to me with a loud groan, "If I picked you up one day and all I had with me was two plane tickets and a diamond ring, wouldn't you want to run away too?"
I felt like I should've taken more time to think about it. Instead, I found myself nodding my head before I knew what was happening. Somehow, my mind was able to agree with him before my mouth could catch up. A wide smile spread across his face and he began to press little kisses all over my face.
"So it's settled?" he asked, making me tilt my head to the side just a bit since I wasn't too sure what he was talking about.
"What's settled?" I asked him in response as he laced our fingers together.
"Isn't it obvious? We could run away together." He answered simply before he pecked my lips gently, "Once I get enough money for the tickets. We could go wherever you want."
"Are you sure about this?" I whispered quietly, not really sure if this was the right choice for either one of us at this point. After all, I was barely an adult.
"Of course I'm sure. You know that I love you more than anything. You're all that I've ever wanted." He told me with a small shrug of his shoulders.
A smile spread across my face. Later that night, I was back home in my bedroom and lying on my bed. It was so hard to make this choice for myself. Before I was even able to look up, Bella was standing by my bedroom window with a small smile spread across her face.
"What are you doing here?" I asked her sweetly as I rubbed my eyes softly.
"Alice said she can't see your future anymore. So, I was sent to talk you out of whatever it is that you're planning." She answered with a small shrug before she sat down carefully on the corner of my bed.
"What makes you think I'm planning something?" I mumbled while I looked down at my chipping nail polish.
"It's either you or Jacob planning something. Either way, you should tell me. After all, I am your sister." She answered, making me sigh a bit since I knew I should probably talk to someone about it.
"Jacob has this new idea about the two of us running away together because my mother isn't exactly happy with him right now. So, he wants to get some tickets, and apparently a ring." I answered honestly, never really able to lie to Bella.
Her eyes were wide and I bit down on my bottom lip as she struggled for what to say. I knew she wanted to help and it was obvious that she was trying her best to say the right thing. Moments like this between the two of us made me realize how much I always wanted a sister when I was growing up.
"That's definitely a lot to take in at once." She told me quietly as she looked down at her hands.
"Can you tell me what to do? Please?" I asked her with a little whine.
"I'm pretty sure that this is one of those things that you have to figure out for yourself. But, I also think that you shouldn't run away with your boyfriend because of a stupid little fight." She answered with another tiny shrug, "But, I don't think running away would stop Alice from seeing you..."
"So what do you think it is?" I asked her, looking into her amber eyes.
"Well, Alice, Rosalie and I kinda have an idea as to why it could be..." she answered again, making it seem as though there was something that she was keeping from me.
"I really hope we're not thinking the same thing." I mumbled while she slid a white cardboard box out of the small bag she was carrying with her.
"Just take a test or two. Okay?" she offered while she handed me the box.
I bit my lip as I looked down at it. Most of the time, any form of protection was the last thing on our mind when Jacob and I were together. Unfortunately, it seemed as though that was all coming back to bite me in the ass.
