After a week.
I slowly open my eyes, my vision slightly groggy, and my memory fuzzy. I glance around the room, my senses slowly returning to me. My gaze lands on Aerra, sitting on a chair beside my bed.
My voice is raspy, a hoarse whisper of relief and disbelief. "Aerra...?" I say, the words barely coming out, my voice weak as I see Aerra by my side. I can't believe she's here.
A smile appears on her face as she stands up and approaches me. "Dag," she says, her voice gentle and filled with relief. She carefully approaches, concern etched on her face. Her eyes hold a mix of emotions, and she reaches out to me with gentle hands.
I stare at her for a moment, the corners of my lips curving into a smile. My voice is still weak and groggy, and my words have a hint of disbelief. "This isn't a dream, right?"
Her smile grows wider, her head shaking in response to my question. "No, this isn't a dream. Thank God, we're both safe, Dag," she replies. She reaches out to me, her hand gently touching mine.I smile, sighing in relief, my voice a soft invitation. "Come here," I say, my arms open and welcoming. I gently pull her into my embrace, my arms enveloping her.
My hand gently strokes her head, my fingers running through her hair, my touch filled with affection. I place a tender kiss on her head, my lips brushing her hair. My hand continues to caress her, my embrace holding her gently against me.
She stands up, her hand still holding mine, and lets out a sigh. "Those bastards were about to kill you... Are you okay?" Her voice holds a mix of worry and relief. She looks at me intently, concern etched on her face, her hand gently squeezing mine.
My lips curve into a gentle smile, my voice reassuring. "I'm fine, I'm fine," I shake my head dismissively, my focus on her. "The injury doesn't matter now that I found you," For me, the pain of my injury pales in comparison to the relief and joy of having her safely by my side.
My mind flashes back to that moment, the fear and worry of finding her lifeless body in that coffin. My body tenses slightly, and my grip on her hand unconsciously tightens as a mix of emotions floods through me.
My voice trembles as I recall the moment of finding the coffin, the intense fear, and the heartbreaking scene that met my eyes. "When I opened that coffin," I murmured, my words shaking with emotion, "I thought I had lost you, Aerra."
Her voice is tinged with sadness, her words revealing the gravity of the situation. "If he hadn't found me, I would have died," she says.
Her words pique my curiosity, her mention of "he," leaving me wondering. I inquire, my curiosity evident. "He? Who saved you?""My brother Ronerys..." Her words shed light on who had come to her rescue.
Her brother...
The door opens, and everyone is walking in with smiles on their head."I see you're in a mood, huh?"Fane grins.
My mother walks towards me, her words filled with relief and affection. "My baby..." she murmurs, her voice filled with a mix of joy and worry. Her arms gently envelop me, her embrace tight and heartache.
I gently reassure her, my voice soft and understanding. "I'm fine, mom. It's okay," I murmur soothingly, my words gentle and reassuring. I try to calm her worries, my arms wrapping lightly around her, offering a sense of solace and comfort.
I hold my mother tightly, her embrace warm and filled with relief. Her emotions are raw. Her voice cracks ever so softly, her words tinged with vulnerability. "I was so worried about you," she whispers, her voice carrying a mix of fear and relief.
I gently place a comforting hand on her back, my tone soft and apologetic. "I know. I'm so sorry," I murmur, my voice carrying genuine remorse for the emotions I had caused her.
