The ringing of the phone breaks the intense silence in the room, and all eyes turn towards me as I pick it up and put it on speakerphone. Everyone tense and anxious, waiting.

The question hangs in the air as everyone's attention is fixed on the phone, waiting anxiously for any news about Aerra's whereabouts. "Did you find Aerra?" I ask, my voice tight with worry and dread.

I listen intently as the voice on the phone gives instructions for an exchange at the end of Thunder Bay, a location I immediately recognize. "Okay. Let's meet at Thunder Bay's end. We'll exchange them there."

The line goes dead as I hang up the phone, my mind racing with the information I just received.

I exhale a sigh of relief, a small smile tugging at the corners of my lips as the tension eases slightly. "Thank god..." I murmur, the words a silent prayer of gratitude.

Fane breaks into a grin and pulls me into a tight embrace. "We got this, man,"he says quietly, squeezing my shoulders in reassurance.

I can practically feel the weight lifting off my shoulders, and I take a deep, cleansing breath. "Yeah, I feel like I can finally breathe."I admit, a flicker of hope igniting in my chest.

Fane pulls his girlfriend close, wrapping his arms around her and planting a kiss on her forehead. She leans into him, her smile growing wider as she rests her head against his chest. "We're going to get her back, brother," Fane says, his voice filled with a mixture of relief and determination.

I can't help but mirror Fane's smile, the glimmer of hope growing stronger within me. "Yeah..." I agree, my voice firm and resolute. "We'll get her back, one way or another."
The room falls silent as mom speaks up, her voice firm and unwavering. "I'm coming too,"
Ivarsen's voice cuts through the air, his tone firm and adamant. "No, you're not." He states, his eyes fixed on her.

Gunnar nods in agreement, his expression solemn. "He's right, mom," he adds, his voice gentle but firm. "It's too dangerous. You should stay here."

"Am I crazy for letting you do this?" She asks quietly, the question hovering in the air between us.

My mom's face softens at my words, a small smile curving her lips. "I think you're very good at being a mother and a human."I murmurs.

Better than me.

I blink, my vision slowly coming into focus. "What's going on?"I murmur, my voice small and disoriented. As my blurry vision clears, my eyes widen as I notice a snake slithering toward me.

My heart begins to race as I realize the snake is coming closer, and I cry out, my voice filled with a mix of terror and desperation. "God, please help me! Please help me! No! No, don't come, don't come!" I cry, my body frozen in fear.

The panic and dread fill me as the snake inches ever closer, its scaled body writhing on the cold ground. "Agh! Dag, please help! Please come!" I shout into the darkness, my voice filled with a mixture of terror and despair.

The air is tense as we stand outside, armed and ready for whatever comes our way. I hold the girl, wrists bound, her eyes wide with fear as we wait anxiously for Philip and Aera to arrive. The silence is thick and heavy, each passing moment feeling like an eternity.

Gunnar's voice breaks through the tension, his words carrying a note of reassurance. "He'll come."

I nod, my heart racing as the sound of the approaching vehicle grows louder. "I know, I know..." I murmur, my grip on the girl's arm tightening as anxiety and anticipation build within me.
