"A Beautiful Change With Mixed Emotions"

~~

“We’re here.” Jungkook announced as he turned the bike off and turned back towards Jimin, who had a blindfold over his eyes.

They were within a short distance of the place when Jungkook suggested that they should switch places, as he wanted to lead Jimin there himself. Also, he asked the latter to put on a blindfold, wanting Jimin to be a little surprised upon seeing where Jungkook had brought him.

And just as Jimin took both helmet and blindfold off, he let his eyes blink a few times to get used to the light again, and looked around, eyes squinted at first, but soon widened when he realised where he was. It was the same field, where Jungkook had brought him and opened his heart out to him, where they said promises, and got to know each other emotionally.

His face of realisation made Jungkook let out a chuckle, fond of how cute Jimin looked with his eyes wide and mouth agape as he stared at the place in front of him.

“Let’s get down there, and you can stare as long as you want.” Jungkook announced before turning on the bike again and led both of them down the slope that made Jimin hold onto him tightly, letting out a ‘woah’, eyes glistening with excitement.

The last time they were here, they strolled down the lanes by walking, enjoying the calmness of the place. But this time, they strolled here and there between the lanes on Jungkook’s bike, Jimin’s arms spread on either side, enjoying the fast pace and letting the air caress his face.

When they were done with several rounds here and there, they finally settled down near the end of flower beds, both of their eyes were on the clear field in front of them. They sat there in silence, the good thing was that it was peaceful silence, and none of them wanted to disturb such an atmosphere.

Jungkook was the one who broke the silence as he softly spoke up as if scared of ruining the peace between them. “I’m relieved that you showed up today.” Jungkook turned to Jimin, who had his own eyes focused on Jungkook, as he continued. “For a moment, I believed that maybe you would not show up when it was almost the time and there was no sign of you nearby. I know I said I’m willing to let you decide whatever you would want to do with us if you never came, but still I had hope. But then, when you suddenly appeared out of nowhere, I had a hard time believing that you were there, in front of me, ready to give us a chance, ready to spend a life with me.”

Jimin stared at him for more seconds, before he let his eyes settle on the way the clouds were moving and merging into one another. With a deep breath, Jimin spoke up. “Jungkook-ah. I’m gonna be honest. I can’t deny the fact that I did think of not showing up today….” That made Jungkook tense and lowered his eyes, the uncertainty and insecurity from previous conversation between them showed up just for a second before it disappeared.

“... But, it’s not because of what you think. I do love you, and want to spend my life with you, as my partner, as Ji-sook’s father. Please don’t doubt my love for you. I was scared of not being enough for you, of disappointing you in future. It was hard to even believe that you would even ask me out on a date, after what happened between us.” Jungkook could hear and clearly notice the fear and disbelief in Jimin’s voice.

“Above all of it, maybe I was more scared of how, accepting you and your proposal, would make me seem in your life. I was married to Jackson hyung, and then, after his death, I am going back to you like nothing happened. Won’t it make me seem like a selfish person?” There comes the insecurities that often eat up Jimin’s mind in such situations.

“Jackson hyung did so much for me. He was there to help me out and support me with Ji-sook when I was not being myself, but he was my friend, whom I could never see as someone more than that. And I always felt bad for that. But Hyung assured me that it never affected him as much because I was a friend to him too, he only needed a reason to live, and he found that reason in Ji-sook. For that, I am forever grateful. I was hesitant just because of this fact, because of the guilt I had for Hyung.” Jimin heaved a shaky breath, calming himself as he didn’t want to cry now.
