Call Me Biased, I Don't Care

"Okay, now tell me why I was brought here? What happened? Where is Mason? Why do you suddenly have so many men working for you?", Brian asked, now sitting in the empty conference room where the meeting was being held around two hours ago.

"Killian Amber is the chief you have been working for all this time!", Bill said, his eyes big as he couldn't bring himself to believe it as well.

Brian looked back at Chester, terrified, who was kneeling down next to Brian's chair, holding Brian's hand to calm him down as his mom's men literally brought Brian in as if it was some action movie and they were delivering a treasure. "Well, Mason seemed to have been taken hostage by Killian Amber for passing on our information to them and he seemed to have went with them voluntarily without letting us know so that they stay oblivious of our company's plans and we all stay safe. And mom ordered her men to go and pick you up.", Chester said, rubbing his thumb on Brian's hand.

"You mean, May made a rational decision and did not KO his kidnappers before giving in? I don't believe it!", Brian said, his tone mocking.

"You mean he usually knocks out people?", Bill asked, surprised.

"Dude, no one can touch him if he does not permit. He hit and sent three of our seniors in school to hospital because they simply called him a faggot! I cannot believe he went along with Killian Amber's pet and got into trouble without hitting anyone!", Brian said, now motioning Chester to stand up and sit comfortably on a chair.

"Guess, he wanted to stall them till the meeting is over. I mean Russell called and said that. I think that's pretty much what happened. We will know more when they arrive.", Bill said, getting down from the long conference table he was sitting on, when the door to the room opened and Amelia came in.

Brian stood up, almost mechanically, and bowed saying, "Thank you for taking care of me and my friend, ma'am."

Amelia stopped walking towards them and looked at Brian's 90 degree bow and after a pause she burst out laughing, saying, "Oh my God, Chester!! He is adorable!"

Brian stood up straight, with a forced smile, his cheeks red, embarrassed, not sure what to do when Chester stood up from his chair, put an arm around Brian's shoulder from behind, chuckling, and said, "You know, I have always had a knack for cute things."

"And you did not even make sure if he was safe!", Amelia said, her expression turning serious, as if Chester made a huge mistake.

"N-no, m-ma'am. It's alright...I mean the library area is safe. And Killian Amber did not know I was involved. Because, apparently, BK, I mean our team leader only leaked the information that Mason was directly involved with your family.",  Brian managed to say, feeling uneasy.

"No!! Don't take his side. He is a stupid man. You are so smart and adorable and such a good kid. You are too good for this silly giant. What made you choose him?", Amelia said, coming forward to take Brian's face in her hands and squeeze his cheeks, "Chester should be thankful you love him.", she said and shot Chester a disappointed look.

Chester looked down, dejected, but his face showed no emotions. This made Brian more uneasy. Bill saw Brian feeling a bit uncomfortable and said, "Mom! Let's go. You have to meet the board members. They were asking for you a bit earlier."

"Oh, really? Okay!", she said and turned to Chester saying, "You, make sure to escort him to the party tomorrow. He should not be coming alone like a stray kitten. Take care of him, properly, will you? And, Brian, please come to the party tomorrow. It will make me happy."

Brian nodded as she left waving at him with a smile.

"Am I enough for you, Brian?", Chester asked, now only them being in the room, his face without any expression, but his voice was determined.
