"Can you please stop crying? You are making me feel more bad.", Chester said, a bit worried and at his wit's end. They were standing in front of the library, outside.
"You have to eat, let's go.", Brian pushed past Chester to walk away when Chester grabbed his arm stopping him, saying,
"I am not hungry. I don't have any appetite, Brian. And I am just a bit sleepy, otherwise I am fine. You can calm down."
Brian shot him an angry look without saying anything. His eyes still moist. "I am really not hungry.", Chester said again. To this Brian turned back to go back to the library when Chester sensed the mistake he made again and then yelled behind him,
"Okay, I will eat. If that's what takes your anger away. I am sorry, Brian."
He waited with an anticipating gaze towards Brian's back who was walking away. Then he yelled again,
"Get over here, Brian. If you don't come back right now, I will have to make a decision, I have been dreading to make all this time..."
Brian stopped walking, looked down, without turning back and then after contemplating whether to listen to him or not he decided to let fate take over. He resumed walking away from Chester, being able to clearly hear his own heart pounding. He had already confessed and now there's only two options, either Chester gives in or Brian moves on. It's not like his life was dry. There were some regulars in the library who gave Brian importance more than Chester ever did. Then suddenly he felt a hand on his shoulder, that turned him back to face Chester. Brian frowned at him, his eyes red from all the crying, when Chester said,
"Sorry, I don't think I can do this anymore. You are making it impossible, day by day."
"Just get lost!", Brian said, his voice breaking.
"I will. But let me just seal the deal, first.", Chester said and bent down to kiss Brian, cupping his face in his palms, making Brian stand on his toes.
Brian felt the warmth of their lips, and Chester's hand snaking its way around his waist, pulling him closer, the other hand on his neck, their bodies being in contact for the first time. He wondered if Chester held anyone like this before when he shuddered and arched back as Chester deepened the kiss, almost as if he had been wanting to do this for so long that there was nothing gentle remaining in his acts. It took long enough for Brian to realise that they were out on the street in broad daylight and it wasn't even 10 am yet when he struggled to push Chester away but his strength felt short, his legs wobbling with all the tension when Chester, stopped kissing, without pulling away, his mouth inches away from Brian's, and mumbled, in his raspy voice,
"Trying to resist, now?"
"We are literally on the street, in front of my workplace!", Brian said, without any emotions, unable to look up, as Chester's grip on his waist never loosened.
"Then let's take it where you can save your embarrassment.", Chester said, a smile tugging at the corner of his lips, when he let Brian go for a second and then dragged him away to his jeep.
"Wait...I have to get back to work.", Brian protested before Chester made him get on the back seat of the jeep.
"It won't take long. Weren't you going to take me for breakfast a few minutes ago? Let me just have it here.", Chester said, his voice stern but smile laced with mischief, before getting in the jeep himself and slamming the door behind him.
