I Just Wanted To Hear His Voice

"What exactly did James say? Was it enough for us to be safe with our current plan?", Bill asked.

The Sunday morning seemed restless with the meeting next day and the consequent press meeting that was supposed to happen next month but Chester decided to do it right after the company meeting to avoid any more issue. The sooner they go public the better they avoid underworld attacks. They were in Russell's work room after breakfast. Chester was yet to come.

"We got to know about Killian Amber's main objective. That is he wants to kill our whole family and own everything before we make everything public. But I felt James was hiding something more.", Russell said, scratching his head.

"Don't sweat it. We are already partly popular. So Killian Amber has to redo whatever plans he had. And hoping James no more has any connection with him, we are clean. I am just worried about Mason, Brian and BK to some extent.", Chester said, coming in Russell's room, silently, as if he was already there.

"Goodness, you startled me!", Russell said, placing a hand on his chest.

Bill smiled. "Should we send someone over? To guard them, I mean discreetly. Can't make them feel uncomfortable.", Bill said, shrugging.

"No!", Russell said, "No one can be trusted that much. The company people still don't know about them. Let's just keep it that way to avoid attention. It's best if people don't know them, particularly when we ourselves will be busy and not be there with them.", Russell said, solemnly.

"Point! And if something happens, we have the back up GPS tracker attached to their phones. You got them those, right?", Chester said, nodding, sitting down on the couch.

"Finally something you guys agreed on. Yes, they fixed those trackers on their phones. I did not expect them to agree so fast. But they are smart, so...Okay. Let's get to the press meet agenda. We won't have time to prepare after the company meeting gets done. And guess what? Mom's coming and hosting a party!!", Bill said, unable to hold his excitement.

"No shit! Really?", Russell asked, shocked and excited, "This is new information." He looked back at Chester.

"Bill, it was supposed to be a surprise for our little CEO, here.", Chester said, smiling, shaking his head.

"Oops! I am sorry.", Bill said and started pulling out some papers from a file, hurriedly.

"Where the hell are you taking me?", Mason demanded when he was pushed in a van by a person, probably a security staff from the headquarters.

"Let's just keep that location confidential and also, hand over your phone. We can't get people following you.", Jonathan said, with an evil smile.

Mason tried to fight back saying, "Why will anybody come after me, they don't even know I am being taken hostage.", knowing well that the external GPS tracker will still work until and unless they throw away the phone.

"It's okay, we will just switch it off, don't worry. Let's have a peaceful trip, shall we? We need to get our hands on your boyfriend before anyone does. He gave away things that belong to us.", Jonathan said, in an authoritative tone, getting in the van himself.

Mason stayed silent seeing Jonathan drop his phone in the inside pocket of the coat.

Around dusk, they were still moving and Mason could not imagine how much more they will travel. He asked once, "Aren't the headquarters in this city?"

"Sure they are, Mr. Elsher. But our chief works remotely. He cannot be freely moving, you know? And we could have avoided this meeting if you simply handed over the information as you were asked. But you chose the other way and he had to intervene. We have a tight schedule. ", Jonathan said, taking out a bread from a bag in the trunk and biting on it.
