"I won't be going back to my apartment, tonight. I will stay at Brian's. So drop me off at the next subway entrance. I will go from there.", Mason said, while on the way back from the warehouse.
"I can drop you there, though, Russell's bleeding has stopped. He will be fine after we go home. Our doctor is waiting for us.", Chester said, his voice sincere.
"Not a chance. I am not endangering my baby's life. Just do what I asked you to.", Mason said, inspecting the handkerchief bound around Russell's arm, to make sure it's in place.
"Just drop him off, brother. I don't want you to know where Brian lives as well. I didn't know you were stupid enough to show up on people's door like you did today.", Russell said, sighing.
Chester remained silent. Mason then looked at Russell.
"What?", Russell asked, blankly.
"I am a bit disappointed with you.", Mason said, frowning.
"Eh? What? Why?"
"You did not feel like letting me know that you were planning to die today?"
"Umm...I, well, I knew I wouldn't die."
Mason raised his eyebrows at Russell.
"Sorry, Maple, I am really sorry. I just thought you wouldn't care that much. And also this is our family issue and I needed to make things right myself.", Russell said, looking down at his own hands.
"And there you were bragging about Mason being your future husband. That's pretty lame, brother. You cannot make people worry about you and tell them don't worry.", Chester said, looking through the rear view mirror.
"Wait! What? Future husband? How did you...", Russell asked and looked at Mason who tilted his head, as if demanding an explanation.
"I am sorry. I really am. But I don't have your number. And I already had the police informed. So...", Russell said when Chester said, angrily,
"If you ever rely on police again, you asshole, I will make sure you and Bill never trust in police anymore!"
Mason rolled his eyes and Russell stayed silent. A while later Chester stopped the car for Mason at the subway. Mason got out and said waving at them,
"Drive home safe, you two!"
"You be safe too, Maple!!", Russell said, sitting up straight, almost shouting gleefully, with a bright smile, waving back at him.
"Calm down, Mr. Lover. Well, see you!", Chester said and drove off.
Before reaching home Chester called Bill and asked to see that there is no evidence left of Russell's gun, from reciept to transaction, although the gun was illegally bought.
"Just when I thought I was finally out of illegal things...", Russell said, sighing, while getting out from the jeep, in their home's garage.
"It's not possible until Killian Amber dies. And the fact that he meets people like that in public and is still able to avoid getting arrested shows his influence.", Chester said, taking out the bag from the jeep, which contained the disassembled gun parts.
"What are you going to do with that?", Russell asked pointing at the bag.
"Melting everything, obviously. Also Bill has prepared a different copy of the warehouse footage, so we are clean for now. I am taking a chance on any one of the guns or bullets used by them being similar to ours. Let's see. And I have also asked Bill to see that we don't have any guns or bullets at home, apart from the ones that belonged to dad. I can rent a gun next time if we need one, but you can do without it."
