The car halted with a screech as Sanskar applied sudden brake.

"YOU CAME BY TRAIN?"

Swara flinched as Sanskar shouted. She sighed looking at his shocked face and nodded her head in a yes.

"When did you start?" he asked. She licked her lips and said, "yesterday evening".

He turned away from her looking at the road in front. Realization hitting him as why to there was always noise whenever he talked with her. "Why didn't you tell me? I could have booked you a flight", he said turning back to her.

"It wouldn't have been a surprise", she said with a bored face. "You could have asked Angre", he said. "Sanskar I can't use his money to surprise you..", she said stubbornly.

He let out a breathe and said, "Fine I am taking you to baadi. You need to rest first".

"NO!" she shouted and he looked at her narrowing his eyes. "Sanskar I came here to see fireworks with you. I am not going baadi, I have my train back to Mumbai in early morning".

He blinked his eyes shocked, "you came here for one night?" he barely whispered. "I am feeling guilty now", he said slowly as he started the car.

She huffed and said, "Sanskar you come to Mumbai every weekend!"

"Ha Swara but I come by flight. You must be so tired, okay you wanted to surprise me. Now go back by flight..", he said trying to convince her.

"Sanskar I won't get refund! Let's leave all this, first we will go to your spot", she said and he shook his head knowing she wasn't going to agree to him.

Swara smiled looking around the calm river. She and Sanskar were sitting on corner of a long boat and a person was riding the boat from another corner turning his back to them. "When will there be fireworks?" she asked confused turning to him who was looking at her sadly.

"Exactly at midnight", he said slowly. She narrowed her eyes and slapped his arm. "Ouch!" he winced.

"You are so mean, I came to surprise you and you are not happy", she said and he held her arms. "Swara you have no idea how happy I am. I am just upset that your health will be spoiled. After the fireworks, I will drop you at baadi. Take proper rest and.."

"I am not going to baadi", she suddenly said. Her eyes losing their spark and joy. She released herself from his grip and said, "I am not going there Sanskar. I already met Maa and Baba. They picked me from railway station and dropped me at the maheshwari house. I.. I have already bid bye to them. I am leaving directly".

She said not looking at him and he choked on his tears realizing she wasn't even going to go to her own house. "Maa told me on call that dadi has already gone on Ragini's side. Dadi doesn't hate me but she has forgiven Ragini. I am sure soon she will start hating me. Baba still hasn't forgiven Ragini but that day is not far when they both will hate me and take Ragini's side. I am so scared for maa and baba. I hope and pray everyday they don't get separated again.."

She closed her eyes feeling tears pooling her eyes, "It is better dadi doesn't know I am here. She will tell Ragini and there will be unnecessary drama". She opened her eyes and said looking at the sky, "I don't want to face anyone and give explanations for the mistakes I never made".

"Thank you for coming Swara", he said slowly. She frowned giving him a nasty look for saying thank you and he chuckled.

She blinked her tears away with a smile and suddenly slapped her head as she remembered something. "I forgot to give you", she said opening her handbag. She took a small bouquet of orange roses.
