Next day
Sanskar sat on the slab watching Swara prepare breakfast. She looked normal, too normal. She didn't ask him anything about the alliance. She didn't behave like she was awkward about their dance. So nothing happened? Was he making a big deal out of things? He imagined a thousand questions he could ask her.
'Was the dance normal to you?'
'Did you not feel anything when I touched you? Why did I see love written all over your face during the dance?'
'Do you not care that my Mom wants me to remarry?'
'Will you be fine if we don't meet every weekend?'
He gulped looking away not knowing what to do.
Swara looked at him from the corner of her eyes and bit her inner cheeks not knowing what to say. His love for her was not invisible. Maybe he wasn't ready to remarry but it wasn't her place to ask him to move on.
The last time she suggested him about his feeling he walked away from her and flew to Kolkata. He hated being said how he should feel and she knew she shouldn't cross that line again. He deserved to move on and have a happy life with a woman who could love him and care for him. She always knew it but it was a bitter pill to swallow and she didn't want to think why it was so hard for her to accept the topic of his remarriage.
"Ouch!" she winced as she lightly cut her finger and Sanskar immediately jumped off the slab holding her hand. "Swara you.. where is your mind?" he shouted worriedly and dragged her to the sink.
She blinked her eyes at him as he kept her hand under the running water. "I am fine", she said and got quiet at his glare.
She went with him silently like a kid as he took her inside the room. He blew air on her small cut and wrapped a band-aid around her finger.
He looked at her angrily, she gave a light sheepish smile but then sighed as he continued to glare her. "Sometimes accidents happen Sanskar Maheshwari!" she said in the most childish voice she could speak hoping he would smile but his expression remain unchanged.
She frowned and poked a finger at his cheek. "That's enough, smile", she said seriously. She continuously poked his cheek and said with a straight face,
"Smile"
"Smile"
"Smile"
His lips slightly curved up and she grinned widely. "I will cook, just sit silently", he said and she nodded to him with a smile.
They both went to the kitchen, he held her arm helping her to sit on the slab and he cooked. He smiled a little as she started humming and singing songs. She took his phone out of his pocket and played songs. She took a carrot and held it like a mic singing along loudly.
He took the carrot from her to cut them and she frowned. He was smiling the whole time at her antics. He soon finished cooking and they both had their breakfast sitting on the slab.
The songs were still playing as they did the dishes and cleaned the kitchen. A love song came up, he turned to see her humming the song while cleaning the slab. He thought of something and quickly pulled her hand and the dirty cloth she had in her hand to wipe the slab fell down.
"We could dance like yesterday", he said cheerfully and pulled her closer by waist as he danced with her.
He kept his expression neutral and happy trying to observe her. He saw her smile fading, he twirled her around the small kitchen, her hair was loosening from her bun. He bent her down and freed her hair from clip. Her doe eyes widened as she looked at him with nervousness and innocence.
