|13. The Storm inside him|

One week later

Sanskar stepped into the airport of Mumbai with determination. He wasn't leaving without an answer this time. The one week was a pure torture, he talked to her everyday. She was normal, very normal. When Angre picked him up, all through the way he thought of the possible conversations that could happen if he asks her whether she loves him. Anger, sadness, hatred, hopefully happiness?

Will everything remain the same if she refuses to acknowledge her feelings? The questions were endless and he had asked those questions to himself a million times in the past week. All he wanted was answers.

But his intentions changed when she opened the door and gave him her beautiful smile. He closed his eyes gulping his tears when she hugged him at the doorstep.

He quickly collected himself putting a smile on his face when she broke the hug and looked at him excitedly. She dragged him inside, he was welcomed with the aroma of chocolate.

"You first go and freshen up, go!" she said snatching his small luggage. "Where is this smell coming from?" he asked and she frowned shaking her head in a no. "You first go!" she said pushing him to room and he followed her words.

Once he freshened up, he came to hall confused and saw her bringing a small cake from the kitchen. "I made cake, it came out so good", she said excitedly like a child and a genuine smile occupied his lips.

"Anything special?" he asked as she placed the cake on table. "Bank sanctioned my loan", she said and he blinked his eyes for few seconds.

He immediately stormed to her and she laughed as he pulled her in a tight hug. "I just got a call today", she said breaking the hug. "Congratulations", he said and she shrieked jumping. He laughed at her excitement and she turned to the cake.

"I was kind of hoping I get the call today because I wanted to celebrate with you, if they had called before then I will have to wait till you come here. If they called late then also I will have to wait..", she blabbered picking a knife and he smiled hearing her.

"Come", she took his hand and placed it on knife as she cut cake with him. She had the first bite and hummed closing her eyes. She took a piece and said, "I don't care whether you like it or not, act like this is the best cake you have ever had". He laughed and opened his mouth as she fed him.

"Oh my god", he acted like fainting. "Oh my god why is it good?" he asked loudly and she giggled. "Okay okay thank you now tell honestly", she asked and he simply took another piece and stuffed it in his mouth.

"Bolo na Sanskar (Say Sanskar)", she almost whined and he showed her his hand. "Let me eat first", he said with cake muffled and she shook her head. She waited for him patiently crossing her arms, he ate and said, "it is the best cake I have ever had". She smiled widely and turned to the cake.

And just like that all his restlessness vanished as he let himself live in the moment. They had dinner and he lay on the couch watching her setting the bed. He watched as she excitedly told him the date of land registration, that date was not weekend but she was ordering him to be in Mumbai that day.

He watched as she set the blankets talking about her day, he watched as she smiled and easily weakened his nerves. He couldn't gather the courage and he felt himself crumbling. All night he wondered in the darkness if he could wake her up, make some sound and see if she was awake. But he did nothing.
