America POV:

I was staying at Aussies house for a bit while my own abode got renovated, I sat at his kitchen counter drinking out of a milkshake I had just recently got while scrolling on my phone before I heard the front door slam open.

He's back at this time of night?

I turn around and see a very wasted looking Australia, his suit hanging halfway off his body as he holds a beer can in his right, it takes him awhile to process his surroundings before spotting me then drunkly swaying over to me.

"HIC!-H-heeyaa theereee mateee~.."

He flung his arms around me before nuzzling his head into my shoulder, why was he so affectionate whenever he got like this?

"Uhh hey there Aussie, I see you went out had some fun ay?"

"Yeaahhhh~HIC!"

"Hm, well come on let's get you back to bed"

"Nooooooo~!"

I chuckled at his response before gently pushing him off of me

"Well it's gettin' pretty late and I actually have a set bedtime soon so imma hit the hay, goodnight Aussie"

I push out the stool from the island and walk over to the guest bedroom whilst undressing for the night, I close the door behind me and hop into bed, I take out my phone and scroll through TikTok, coming across a few videos that made me laugh, seeing a few subway surfers side by side videos, no wondering this generation has such a low attention span...

My doom scrolling was interrupted when I heard my bedroom door open, seeing a still, not as wasted Australia.

"Hey Aussie, this the guest bedroom you know that right?"

He closes the door behind him before sauntering over to me, his glowing eyes stalked me like a hawk before stopping by my bedside.

"Aus-SIE?!"

He fell onto my chest, fixing his position before fully engulfing my lower body under his.

"A-Aussie, what are you doing..?"

Australia giggled in response before fully closing his eyes and drifting off to dream land, as much as I really wanted to, I just couldn't bring myself to move. So what felt like hours passed by I sat there with a sleeping Australia on my chest.

The more I sat there looking at him, the more I came to appreciate his looks, from his native tattoos, to his blonde curly hair, to his laid-back, comedic, direct personality, to his stubble that I just wanted to graze my hand across for hours on end. Like he'd ever let me in the first place...

Wait, what am I think? I always knew I had a crush on Australia but I gave up on any chance that he'd actually reciprocate any of my feelings. And just like how the saying the goes. "A drunk man's actions are a sober man's thoughts."

What a pathetic thing to think, I need to get off of TikTok...

I close my eyes and felt myself drifting off to sleep, the quote still lingering in my mind.

I groaned awake to the sunlight blinding me through the curtains, my lungs getting a lesser amount of oxygen as I felt a heavy mass on top of me, I looked down to see...AUSTRALIA?! Oh fuck I thought the night before was a dream! I tried my best to squirm from under Australia but my efforts were futile since that must've help wake him up.

"Ngghhhh......what..the..?"

"A-Aussie! It's not what it looks like y-you just-"

I felt my face start to heat up, my heart beating out my chest as I tried to explain myself.

"Bloody hell America, could you shut up for a sec mate, my hangover is starting to kick in"

"O-oh, mhm.."

We sat there for a couple of seconds before Aussie seemed to have enough strength to move up my body and lay his head on my heart, and my god was it beating fast..

He chuckled before saying:

"Why is your heart beating so bloody fast mate?"

"I uh..I don't know"

A silence washed over us until Aussie spoke up again.

"I think we both know why.."

"Y-yeah."

.

"You know America, your one hot ass country you know that?"

"Pft- of course I know."

He smirked before replying.

"You cocky bastard."
