Of Wings and Love

Chapter 5

"Kanae!" Keigo smiled, calling her by her first name without the suffix '-chan'. A smile that he hasn't shown in a while, radiant and bright. How bad he had wanted to call her! How desperate he was to have her in his arms! She had no idea how much he had waited for this moment.

Kanae's head rested on his chest, her hands around his waist. She kept listening to the rhythm of his heart. His body-warmth making her feel warm. Keigo nuzzled the crook of her neck, making her a bit ticklish, his warm breath sending shivers down her spine. As much as she had no idea how long he had waited, she had done the same. There was no day where she had not thought about him.

"You have no idea how much I wanted to feel you." He caressed her cheeks with his thumb breaking their hug and looking at her.

Kanae flushed with a shade of red on her cheeks. "Ke-keigo!"

"You don't know how much I longed for listening to you calling my name like this." He was way too much good at flirting and she was bad at handling it. He was enjoying her flustered reactions.

"I, me too." She managed to mutter.

He chuckled a bit closing his eyes and once looking at her. "I suppose." He leaned in and kissed her forehead making her close her eyes.

Once again, he pulled her in a hug, wrapping his hands around her waist and resting his chin on her head. She was short and fit perfectly in his arms. There was a comfortable silence in between them. They wished only if the time could stop here so that they can stay forever like this, in each other's embrace. Kanae could say that she almost got addicted to listen to his heart beats. She closed her eyes inhaling his scent.

The silence between them was speaking words that were left behind, telling how much they had wanted to be with each other. He pulled her even closer, tightening the embrace so that she can't run away even if she wanted to. Kanae gasped at his action.

"What happened?" he asked, not breaking the hug.

"Nothing." She replied.

"Why did you gasp?" he asked.

"You are holding me too tight." She chuckled.

He let out an 'oh' sound. "Can't be helped Kanae, I don't want to let go of you. What if you run away?" he didn't want to take any chances.

"I won't Keigo, I am staying by your side." SHe smiled further leaning into his chest.

He let out a satisfied chuckle. "Good to know."

"You don't have to worry, I promise I will never let you go." She broke the hug and looked at him, her blue eyes meeting his golden eyes.

He tilted his head in a satisfied smile. "And I promise I won't let you go either."

She smiled as a blush crept on her cheeks. He loves it when she blushes like this.

As they both continued to look in each other's eyes, Keigo leaned in holding her chin, lifting up her face a little. He moved his thumb over her lips. Kanae kept looking at him at first confused but then she kind of understood where this was leading to. He leaned in further removing his thumb from her lips and replacing it with his own, kissing her soft lips. He was sure he could taste strawberry. Kanae closed her eyes, kissing him back as she felt multiple butterflies in her stomach flying around. It was the first time ever someone had kissed her.

He slowly moved his tongue further inside seeking permission to enter her mouth and she let him inside. This was new to her but she felt that he was a good kisser. Keigo cupped her face, making the kiss more intimate and passionate as if he had never kissed anyone. He would not lie if anyone asked him about his physical relations, he had quite a few but with Kanae it was different. All those physical relations he had were nothing but a one-night stand kind of thing. He never felt anything about them. Kanae was the only person he had felt a connection with. Kanae grabbed his tie as he deepened the kiss.
