The walk was the same as always I guess. Hot. Sort of sweaty. Full of talking. On the bright side (metaphorically for once), the shorter clothes were really helpful.
There was also more grass the further out we went. It wasn't an extreme amount, but it was still cool.
“We’re probably closer to finding your flower,”I spoke.
“Yeah. I really hope so.”
“We won't give up on it,”I promised.
“Not until we find it?”
“Not until we find it,”I promised.
I hope I can keep my word. I hope that we find it. For him.

The grass was disappearing again, turning into softer ground. That is not a good sign in the slightest. I don't think at least. I don't know much about these flowers.
Still, we had to try.
Coming to a hill, I let out an audible groan. I’m surprised Aris didn't too considering he has to get up there with a limp. Or maybe he did and I couldn't hear it.
“Ready?”I asked, holding my hand out.
“Ready,”He nodded, accepting it.
Digging my feet into the ground, I started walking up, slowing my pace for him. He pulled himself up, standing beside me.
Moving up again, I kept my feet dug into the ground, being cautious as I looked at him through the corner of my eye. I was sure he pretended not to notice as he stared straight ahead.
“Sorry,”He mumbled.
“Don't apologize for things that aren't your fault,”I said firmly.
“I hate slowing you down.”
“And I hate you having to blare the t.v. What's your point?”
He stayed quiet, simply going up the hill with me again. It didn't look like we had long left, maybe three steps at best.
With my feet still dug in the ground, I gripped his hand a little tighter as I went up. He kept the pace, tightening his grip as well.
We kept going, walking further up. Barely able to see over it, I breathed a sigh of relief before taking him up once more, putting us at top.
Looking out, we saw abandoned buildings and cars. Something about their exterior made it seem like they were once buried, though I had no proof.
“Well, come on,”He said simply, letting go of my hand before sliding down. Sighing, I sat down, letting myself slide down and hit the bottom with a slight thud.
“How smart of you,”He deadpanned, pulling me up.
“Oh hush,”I sighed, looking around again. It was the exact same as we saw before. Sand, buildings, and cars.
“Come on. Let's go see if these cars have anything,”He said simply.
“And how do you plan on breaking-”
Without hesitation, he elbowed a window. Staring at him in shock, I watched him press the unlock button before crawling in the backseat from the front.
“Aris, what the actual hell?”I asked, walking over. Opening the backdoor, I stared at him, my eyes wide.
“Exactly like that,”He said simply.
“What the hell?”I repeated.
“Yeah. I heard you the first time.”
“Are you okay?”
