[18] A Boat, A God, and A Dream.

Me and Percy were in the Cabin, packing our things into some spare bags we found in the back of his closet, probably from when he picked me and my sister up from the school. I've always wondered on if he actually attended the school that day, probably not, but it'd be funny to think about.

Once we finished packing our items, I walked up to an old mirror, hardly used by anyone, and looked back at myself through it. I saw myself staring back, my face looked horrid. I had eyebags that made me look like the walking dead itself, and my face had gotten paler with more acne littered across. I cringed slightly at the reflection before noticing my hair, which was now passing my shoulders and getting straighter. I hummed and grabbed an old hair tie that was around my wrist and tied my hair in a lower man-bun.

Marceline always used to cut it for me in case it got like this, but she would start doing it again once I get her back. I had to remind myself that even though this is for the better, I'm sure Mr. D and Chiron wouldn't allow just any kid to walk out, so we had to do this at night where only the rulebreakers and Cabin Leaders could find us. I won't let this opportunity pass by.

Percy could sense my obsession from a mile away, how I knew? Because he spoke to me, "It's going to be fine, Aug. She's been alive for four months now, she wouldn't stop." He reassured me for the millionth time this week. I only nodded before looking out the window to where this Leo kid was, watching him build the boat that would take us to the one where Luke held my sister.

Soon, we watched as the sun set over Camp, and that's when we made our move. Me and Percy snuck down towards the now finished boat, that odd boy waiting by it with a proud smirk on his face. I had to admit, the thing did look sturdy, but it was a surprise that someone like Leo could make it in just a day. I held back questioning and threw my bag on the freshly built ship, Percy doing the same.

A cough interrupted my progress, which made me quickly turn around, thinking it was a Cabin Leader that caught us, only to see Leo looking at me with an expecting look, "Forgetting something?" He asked rhetorically, his hand outwards, as if expecting payment. I rolled my eyes and grabbed my bag, unzipping it and then pulling out the Tim-Tams I had promised him. This made him smile and hop on with us.

Shit, guess he's coming with us.

Me and the blond pushed the boat out to sea and jumped on in. It was surreal doing all of this in one night, but I guess it's better than rotting in bed even more. I watched as we slowly made our way out to sea, Percy seemingly dipping his hand into the water to move us faster to where he believed he felt Marceline's powers. As he did that, I clinged onto the middle of the ship that held the sail, not wanting to be anywhere near the water.

Soon enough, Percy and Leo fell asleep, which led me steering the ship for the night. I focused on keeping watch in case some sort of weird monster or shark attacks. I mean, I've never actually fought a monster, only really seen them in the picture books when I was little. I only could really 'read' picture books thanks to my dyslexia, but I'd rather put a gun in my mouth than admit it.

Just as I was about to doze off, a bright light to the side of me woke me up. I covered my eyes, thinking that it was another ship (or Luke's) lights that had spotted us, making me nervous and almost frightened. However, a deep, gravely voice spoke up, breaking the once comfortable silence on the ship, "Didn't know my daughter's enemy could steer a ship."

That voice was unfamiliar, so, as expected, I grabbed my axe and pointed it to where I heard it. I was met with a broad chest though, which made me look up in surprise. I was met with a man with dirty blond hair and beard, he had a rough type of figure. It reminded me so much of my foster father to the point where I almost flinched. I backed away a bit, "Who are you? What do you want with me?"

The man only laughed obnoxiously, which made me look over to the two sleeping boys, who only shifted in their sleep thankfully. The man then opened his arms with an expectant look, "You don't know me?" He questioned. I only glared and shook my head, "I don't care who you are. How did you get on our ship? I'll shove water down your throat if you don't leave." I threatened him, not caring if he had a good status or not.

"Ares. God of War, courage? Any ring a bell, kid?" The man, no, the God, said. That made me almost drop my axe. Before I could even say anything, he cut me off quickly, leaving no room for argument, "Anyways, I'm not here for small talk. I want to make a deal with you. Your anger... You have a lot of it, why not put it to use by being my Wrath? It'll be useful for both of us. I'll grant you power, enough to save that sister of yours, and you'll worshipping me in exchange. How does that sound?"

All of this was happening so fast, I couldn't even process anything. I had to think for a minute. Deal? My anger? Wrath? Is this guy serious? Look, I get that I'm angry almost every day, but using it like it was some toy that could be played with was absolutely disgusting. I clenched my hands into fists and looked up at the guy, "Fuck no. I'm not an idiot. Now keep my sister out of your mouth before I pimp slap you so hard, you go cryin' back to Hera." I argued back.

Ares just stared at me with the same nonchalant look, but I could tell that what I said ticked him off. He only scoffed in reply, "Don't worry, sooner or later, you'll see what'll happen." He shrugged before turning around, the blinding light returning. Before I gone blind, I covered my eyes and let it flash away. That man had to be joking, there was no way I was accepting that childish deal. He was the father of Clarisse! Someone who tried to bash my head in!

I returned back to the ship's steering wheel and continued to sail, his words at the back of my mind, "Don't worry, sooner or later, you'll see what'll happen." What was that supposed to me? What was he? A prophecy? Sure. Ares can kiss my ass anyways.
