[4] Where The Hell Are We.

For the sake of me and my mentality, I am not going over the boring science lesson Mrs. Stauber set out for us. It didn't even have any chemical reactions or tubes to fill at all! What a bummer.

The moment the bell rang, I spent extra time trying to place my books and pencils into my bag to avoid having to go to where Percy was taking us. In all honesty, who would go with a boy you met just today off to a place he deems 'cool'.

Marceline would.

Speaking of her, she practically bursted into my class and grabbed me by the arm to drag me out, giving me practically no time for me to grab my bag. After doing so (after much convincing), Marceline and I sped walked outside where the school gates stayed, the stench of the other kids making me close to puking.

As much as I try to live through my mother's words, 'Your heart will guide you', my heart is telling me to hurl chunks when one of the sweaty Year 11's get too close to me.

Anywho, enough about gross boys, lets talk about the one who didn't reek of absolute death, Percy Jackson. He was already waiting at the front entrance for the both of us with crossed arms and amused smirk on his lips, "Thank the Gods, I thought you two would never come."

I rolled my eyes at the sarcastic remark before walking towards the blond with a cross look. I was irritated by the fact that Marceline continued to drag me with her with this stranger boy (and the fact that we didn't even get to eat the lunch we packed).

So the three of us started to walk alongside the sidewalk for around five to ten minutes until Percy turned towards the forest nearby the neighbourhood.

A little backstory about this forest is that usually drunkards or highschoolers looking to cause havoc gone whenever they were bored. Multiple people knew it as different things, a good place for sucking face, a secret spot to get pissed, or some dump to destroy when you're bored. I, however, knew it as a wasteland where older boys gone to jump little kids, and I was not a big fan on getting killed by a bunch of highschool dropouts.

I clinged onto Marceline tighter as we went deeper into the forest. God, I could smell the booze already. "Hey... You 'kay?" My head shot up as I realised that Percy stopped walking and was in front of me and Marcie with a raised eyebrow, but his eyes were slightly more soft than I expected.

"Oh— Yeah... 'm cool." I mumbled under my breath and cleared my throat whilst trying to straighten up, but the smell of alcohol was almost making me want to puke. How could no one else smell it? They didn't even seem affected by it.

Percy only hummed softly and nodded, but he clearly didn't believe me. Thankfully, he didn't pry any further, I hate giving sob stories out to strangers.

The three of us continued further for what felt like thirty whole minutes, and by that time, I was getting irritated. How far is this damn place? Why is the forest so deep? What is with this godforsaken kid and walking so much?

But before I could whine about the pace we were going, a giant entrance made way for the three of us, made in stone (or was it marble? I don't know my rocks). Marceline, who was previously silent the entire journey, practically beamed when she saw this giant monument. "See! I told you following him was a good idea!" She squealed at the sight of something new for once compared to the bland old town we lived in.

That's exactly what Mark Hoffman said to Amanda Young before both of them got killed, girl.

I only muttered an irritated "Okay" and turned over to Percy, where he was looking at me with some dumb, cocky, smirk again. God, damn it, let me kill this guy so he can stop looking at me with those eyes.

Speaking of the boy, the green eyed male only nodded his head towards the entrance and made his way inside, beckoning us to follow him despite my reluctance. However, Marceline rushed in to follow, leaving me no room to argue. It's better to be with a friend in these parts than alone anyways, so I followed.

The moment we entered through the ruin of an entranced, the weather surrounding us somehow lightened, no longer gloomy nor glum like it's always been for the past week. A nice change for once.

However, what took me really by surprise was a bundle of buildings with some structures around them ahead of us. It was beautiful, more fascinating than the boring 'monuments' they had in the outskirts of NYC. I looked at Percy, as if wondering on if he was seeing the same thing or hallucinating it, "What's that place?"

I saw the boy grin and only gave me a teasing look in his green eyes, confusing my mind even further. It was if he knew this place and expected me to do the same. "This is Camp Half-Blood. It's where demigods come and train to fight monsters."

... Marceline. This blond psycho definitely drugged us.

Me and Marceline shared a confused look. That was a camp? Hell, it looked like some luxury that only few could afford. If our father saw something like this, he'd drop our butts onto the streets and claimed that as his new home like a British person in the 1820's.

Whatever this 'Camp' was, whoever those kids wearing obnoxious matching orange shirts were, whatever Percy was, I'm guessing that me and Marceline are going to have to stay a little bit longer to completely find out.
