"What the fuck is going on!" I heard a scream ring out, and my eyes shot open. I looked up, Caleb still holding me close. Lila was standing in the doorway, her eyes wide and a hand over her mouth.

Me and Caleb were dangerously close to each other, Caleb's arms around me and I was laying on his chest. We immediately separated, and I tried to explain myself.

"Lila, I swear, it was nothing-" I started, when she interrupted me.

"Bullshit, Sophia. What is really going on?!" She accused, crossing her arms.

"Lila, listen to me. It really was nothing. We were just watching a movie together in here, and happened to fall asleep. We were both really tired, and I know it looks bad, but that's the truth." I rambled, begging her to believe me. I didn't want to lose my possible relationship with Caleb, or my best friend.

"Really? I thought you guys hated each other." She raised an eyebrow, locking eyes with Caleb, who quickly spoke up.

"Well, since she hates horror movies so much, I forced her to come in here and watch one with me to scare her. You know we aren't close at all." He said, looking over at me, and then back at Lila.

"Whatever. This is so weird. Just...please separate." She stormed out of the room, and I looked over at Caleb anxiously.

"That was a really close one, Caleb. We were so stupid to sleep in here!" I whisper shouted. He nodded.

"I don't know what I was thinking leading you in here. It's my fault, I'm sorry." Caleb said, as we got up. "Let's just try to act like everythings normal, and how it used to be, okay?" He added.

"Okay, yeah. I'll try." I said. I collected myself, looking back at him one last time before exiting his room. I felt my heart race as I sped back to Lila's room, softly knocking before I swung the door open.

Lila glared at me, raising an eyebrow and scoffed. I opened my mouth, desperately trying to explain myself, but nothing came out before Lila quickly interrupted me.

"Sophia, don't even try to explain yourself. I don't know what's going on these days, but I do know that is not something enemies would do." She said, her words and gaze cold. I shook my head quickly.

"Lila, no. It's... it's not like that at all." I rambled, my voice shaking. Lila rolled her eyes.

"I think you should leave, Sophia. I just need some space right now, okay? I'll text you later." She sighed, looking away from my eyes. I quickly nodded, grabbing my bag from her room, and escaping as quickly as possible.

It was such an awkward moment for the entire house. I shut their front door quietly, rushing to the elevator. As the elevator descended to the first floor, I began rethinking what happened last night. I exited the elevator, my thoughts running wild.

When walking down the street, the entire memory replayed in my head. Waking up, his arms tightly holding me, blankets entangled between us. How he looked at me, the way he kissed me, and the way I kissed him back.

We weren't even dating, and hardly had even gotten to know each other. After hating each other for our entire lives to suddenly being more than just friends, I felt confused and conflicted.

As I readjusted the tote bag on my shoulder, I wondered what decisions I should make now. Each step I took led to more bad thoughts. I tried to shake them off, but they wouldn't go away. I needed some time to myself.

I looked around myself - on a busy street, cars honking, pedestrians alone, headphones in and eyes gazing at phones. There were many different shops- boutiques, food, beauty, and more. I spotted a store I knew that hit close to home- my favorite bakery.
