Kaiser: (On my twelfth birthday, I thought "I'll buy something with this money." I felt like that was when my life started.)

He wouldn't buy food... he wanted something that would last. After being abused and mistreated for so long... if it gave the "worthless human" something to live for. That was enough for him.

And there, as he shuffled along outside a sports store, he saw a football on display.

When it's thrown, it flies away. When it hits the wall, it comes back. Even when he punched and kicked it with all his might. It never cried or got angry. When things got rough, it was always, silently, by his side.

It was a reflection of himself, both just pieces of trash.

The boy would lay on hard wooden floors, surrounded by the trash that filled every moment of his life. He'd hug his ball to stave away the loneliness, and dreamed of escaping his hellish nightmare.

Kaiser said nothing, his lifeless eyes staring at his father.

Kaiser: (What are you talking about, you fuckin' deadbeat?)

One police officer put cuffs on Kaiser and ushered him out through the front door while another searched the house for evidence. He returned with a metal box containing all the cash Kaiser had worked so hard to save and presented it to Trash.

Police Officer #1: Sir, we found this safe next to your son's bed.

Kaiser: (Ah.)

Trash stumbled over with his large frame and roughly snatched the money in his hand, crumpling it.

Trash: YOU WERE HIDING MONEY FROM ME, YOU BASTARD! WHAT WERE YOU GONNA USE IT FOR? THAT'S MINE, YOU SHIT!

Even then, Kaiser shrugged it off and willingly cooperated with the law enforcement.

Kaiser: (Well, whatever. I'll just save up more money... and start over again.)

That same officer showed Trash a soccer ball.

Police Officer #1: This football was also lying near his bed, other than that there seems to be no evidence that this boy...
