Ch. 9: Dreams Do Become a Reality, After All

Story summary: Tripmine receives a letter. Who is it from though?

(Huge time skip because I LOST LIKE THREE CHAPTERS IN MY NOTES APP AND I DONT REMEMBER WHAT THEY WERE EITHER- Anywho, don't mind them being 18 now.)

Tripmine and Medkit's friendship improved over the years. They seemed to trust each other more than before now. They were always with each other all the time. Neither of them seemed like they were ever tired of hanging out with the other. That must mean something, right?

Tripmine is still the same, even though he's eighteen now. He's the same energetic demon with his adhd brain. His mind still has the curiosity and creativity ever since he was little too. Only Tripmine's appearance changed a little, where his horns are much sharper than they used to be. The crystal in between his horns still glows amazingly bright red. Tripmine may have been annoying to Medkit some times, but he couldn't help it. The deer was always by his side and someone for Tripmine to talk to. He could feel his weird feeling every time he's with Medkit, and over these years he still doesn't understand. He tried talking about it to Medkit, but he never really got an actual answer from him.

Medkit hasn't changed much either. He still has that mature, tired expression on his face. His horns changed a little, just like Tripmine. It was sharper and more curved like a deer, although it wasn't completely in its mature state yet. His green crystal continues to glow vibrantly as always. Medkit had always accompanied Tripmine since he always wanted his attention. Medkit never got tired of it. His feelings for Tripmine increased and he tried dropping hints at Tripmine, but that red demon was too oblivious to notice any of it. It was funny to Medkit, yet it was also upsetting. But he kept giving Tripmine trying to keep their friendship going.

School was practically over for them now. Their high school life was quicker than they thought, actually. For a quick summary of these two's high school history: Tripmine's robotics won another national championship with the best robot built in the competitions. He became the head leader when he became a senior, all the members loved his hard work and personality. Medkit continued doing activities out of school, such as gardening, piano, and medical practice. He received many awards for his intelligence and grades.

Wow. Time flew fast, because now they're trying to apply to college, and they're still waiting to see if they could get into one or not.

But that didn't happen at all.

Not so recently Blackrock and Playground have declared war on each other. It was all over the news. Blackrock had shut down all schools and universities and any other programs to keep their citizens safe. It was terrifying at first; Tripmine and Medkit are both going through their first war in their faction, after all. But soon they rather not think about it and do something else to keep their minds occupied from the war around them. Medkit's parents had once told them that the area they live in is safe and far from the war, so they would be safe.

Medkit seemed like he was okay with the war, but Tripmine wasn't. He was worried. His mind was racing like crazy when he heard the news, it nearly gave him a panic attack (okay maybe he was being too dramatic). But over time he cooled himself down and tried to forget all about it, as if it was an ordinary day as always!
