Ch. 10: Blackrock's Newest Scientists

Story summary: Tripmine and Medkit go to a job interview... yeah.

If Tripmine could get another day to think about his life choices, he would definitely choose to do it. This was the day he would pick. Tripmine's whole plan of presenting the Blackrock Laboratory Scientists is today . He's excited but anxious at the same time. He's more anxious than excited, though.

Tripmine thinks of it like a job interview, because that's what it's basically is! But it's his mother's old workplace too. He can't stop thinking about it. He has always wanted to work there, and that dream might come if he's careful what he says. It's sad that he won't be working with his mom though, so he'll do this for her!

He's thankful that Medkit helped him practice a few days before the interview. He remembered the list of questions and what he would say. Without Medkit, they would've rejected them in an instant! He's pretty sure that Medkit is proud of him since he's been there for Tripmine all the time.

But no more excuses or stalling for the readers! Because he's here , at the laboratory building.

Medkit drove in the driver's seat while Tripmine sat in the passenger seat. He was wearing a black formal suit for the interview, and Medkit was too. Tripmine begged for Medkit to be with him in case he messed up, but Medkit told him to calm down and take deep breaths. But anyway, here they were, driving up to the laboratory.

Tripmine was fidgeting his fingers anxiously, he was obviously overwhelmed about this. "Meddy, I don't think I can do it..." He murmured.

Medkit looked to his side to get a glance of Tripmine. "I told you already; stop thinking about it. Just think of it like a school project."

"We're not in school..."

"I mean, think of it as one. And try not to show them how scared you are, that'll make you look like a coward."

"Wow, you're so encouraging."

"You're welcome. Okay, we're here now, are we going or not?"

"Fine, let's go."

The laboratory was different from the last time Tripmine came, which was a long time ago. They rebuilt the facility so it looks completely new, it didn't look the same as it used to be. It became a three story building with gray brick walls and concrete floors. There were multiple buildings around that represented different purposes. If the snow wasn't piled on the roofs then it would've looked pretty dull. It was a pretty sight, but Tripmine and Medkit had to enter the building.

Tripmine eyes wandered around the new place. The building was a year old by now, but it still looked like it was untouched. The main room was silent and empty. Tripmine and Medkit walked over to a desk where a white horned demon sat and typed on a keyboard. He didn't seem like she noticed that they entered.
