story summary: Tripmine lied to Medkit from the previous chapter. (It's not his fault, not really I hope.)
i lost so much motivation when i made this, wow. ohhh where were the good times... *sniffle*

"Ow, ow, ow, Meddy!" Tripmine winced, holding back a tear. "I need another crystal, please!"
"Hold on." Medkit hurriedly injected the teal crystal inside of Tripmine's arm.
It's been a few weeks and Tripmine has been testing the pink crystals a lot more lately. Every time he wanted to examine them a little further he needed Medkit's permission and supervision every single time, which Tripmine didn't really like. Medkit said it was for his safety.
The hot poison inside of Tripmine slowly disappeared as he felt the healing crystal's effects in his arm. He let out a sigh. "That should be enough for now." Tripmine then looked back up at Medkit. "How long was that now? Did you remember to keep track?"
Medkit nodded and looked back down at his clipboard, he didn't look so amused about it. "Sixteen seconds, another personal record for you."
"That's good, right? Just three seconds longer before the poison actually started to hurt!" A small grin formed on Tripmine's face.
"Perhaps it is good, perhaps it's not." Medkit sighed, setting down the clipboard back on the counter beside him.
"Well I say that we're making good progress with our project, hmph!" Tripmine crossed his arms.
"What is even your goal with this crystal?" Medkit asked with a concerned tone.
Tripmine's expression faltered. He put a finger under his chin and pretended that he was thinking. He couldn't tell Medkit the truth, right? It'll just make things worse...
The pink crystals were so addicting . It made Tripmine so thrilled every time he injects them. It was so painful, yet so satisfying! The way his arm gets numb and the blood under his skin boils to a hot temperature, and then the green crystal cools it down...
Oh, it was thrilling , all right.
"Hmm, well, I was hoping that we could either use the crystals for the Biograft or to find an antidote with it!" Tripmine lied. "I'm not too sure about the robot having a poisonous crystal in their system since it may burn the material, but finding an antidote might be really useful!"
"..." Medkit stared at Tripmine for a few seconds. It was as if he was trying to find out if Tripmine was lying or not, but he seemed like he believed him. "Alright then, but we've been going this daily for the past few weeks now. Shouldn't we take a break from this, so we don't... hurt you?"
"Pfft, hurt me? Hah!" Tripmine chuckled. "As long as we have enough of your crystals to heal me, then I'll be fine! Besides, I don't want to upset the higher ups. They gave us this opportunity and I can't just let this go to a waste!"
Medkit let out a sigh and took off his gloves. "Fine, if you say so. Let's just clean up and get back to work then."
