"Good morning, and congratulations! You made it to the third day of bootcamp!" Simon says quite cheerfully. "Today you will practice and perform your final duet of a song of your own choice. I'm looking for ambition and stage presence."

"That's it. Apart from one more thing..." Simon anticipates, "There's somebody else here today to help us judge you."

The crowd gasps.

"Nicole." Simon smiles and Nicole walks into the room. We all cheer and she waves at us enthusiastically, she steps up onto the judges stage.

"Hi guys! I'll be helping out with the duets today. This is where I separate the boys from the men and the pussycats from the dolls. So let's have some fun!"

"Nicole will be curating the duets today." Louis announces.

"With a little help from John Modi." She adds.

"We'll leave you all in her hands for now. Be good." Simon says and him and Louis leave.

Someone helps Nicole get up on the stage so she can interact with us.

"I am now going to make the couples of today, I already made a list... It's here somewhere." She looks around and the schedule guy comes up to her to hand it over.

"Let's see..." Nicole looks at us. "The first one I've written down is.. Oh I know! You, the Tea girl." She enthusiastically points to me. "You'll go with the culprit." She smiles and points to Liam.

Liam and I share a look and he comes over to me. He links his arm in mine and I rest my head on his arm.

Nicole continues picking out couples."Louis and Katie."

"Told you you'd get a better partner this round." I whisper and smile.

"The best partner." He looks down to face me and smiles.

"Laelynn and Zayn." Nicole continues, "Harry and Jade."

Laelynn will be good for Zayn, she's got the same mysterious vibe but she's really confident maybe it will rub off on him a little bit.

"Okay, and we'll end off with Daisy Mae and Niall. That's everyone." She puts the notebook away.

Daisy and Niall are both just the sweetest bubbliest people here. Even though I haven't spoken to Niall yet, I know he's just jolly and sweet. Nicole really did think this through.

"Backstage you'll find a schedule for the practice room you're booked in. Either John Modi or I myself will stop by and discuss your song choices with you."

"Come on, let's see where we need to go." Liam takes my hand and we walk off. As we leave backstage there's the scheduling guy again handing out papers. We take one from him and walk to our assigned room.

Liam opens the door for us and we walk in. It's just an empty dance room with some mirrors on the wall, the same as I practiced my duet with Harry in.

"So?" I clap my hands, "what song are you thinking?" and walk into the room backwards, to face Liam.

"Oh I haven't-" Liam gets interrupted by the door opening.

"Hi guys." It's Nicole.

"Oh, hi!" Liam turns his head to the door and we both look at her.

"Have you guys thought of a song yet?" She joins us in the middle of the room.

"We haven't really had time to think about it." I chuckle.

"You got here before we could even discuss anything." Liam laughs. "You're too fast."

"Good." Nicole smiles. "I made you the first couple so I could be here first. Because I know exactly what song you guys should sing."

"Tell us what you think." Liam says, "we're open for suggestions."

"The song you guys should be choosing..." Nicole builds the suspense.

"Nicole tell us! We've already got Simon playing the suspense game all week." I blurt out.

Nicole laughs, "Okay, okay. What I'd love to see from you is 'Breaking free'."

"From high school musical?" I ask enthusiastically.

"Yes. Exactly." She continues, "because Liam, you are such a Troy with the hair and all. And you, Amber make a great Gabriella look a like."

"Ha I'm not that good at basketball but you know I see what you mean." Liam jokes.

"I love that song Liam!" I light up. "What do you think?" I ask him hopefully.

"I think I'd love to do that song with you Amber." He smiles at me.

"Good, then it's set. You're doing Breaking Free." Nicole writes it down in her notebook, then turns around to leave. "I've got to go the next couple, busy day. Go and practice for a bit and I'll come back in a bit to help coach you." By the time she finishes her sentence she's halfway out the door.

"Bye Nicole." We say in unison.

"Oh by the way." She turns around still holding the doorknob. "I was really glad to see the two of you were both still here." She smiles. "I'm a sucker for a good love story."

"Oh me and Liam are not-" I feel my cheeks heat up.

"No we're not together." Liam holds his hands up in the air as if someone's pointing a gun at him.

"Yet." Nicole winks. "Not together yet." She lets go of the door and leaves. "Good luck practicing!" We hear her say as it closes behind her.

I look at Liam, he looks at me. We're both bright red. "She thinks.." I start, then we burst into laughter. "Good for us to know." Liam says, "we can always use that and pretend on stage just so she'll keep us around."

"Yeah..." I stop laughing, or we could just you know... not pretend and actually just fall in love? Ugh what am I thinking that's just stupid. Maybe Jade's getting into my head.

"You wanna start working on this song?" I change the subject.

"Definitely." Liam says, "Let me look up the video again, and some of the lyrics with the notes."
