25. This is me

After practicing for a few hours my tummy starts to rumble.

"You need some food in there?" Liam chuckles at the sound.

"Yeah sure do." I look at the time. "It's almost 10, we can do a quick brunch, or maybe just a snack? You wanna go see if the others are hungry too?"

"Yeah let's see." Liam looks at the schedule. "Oh, Harry and Jade are just next door."

"Cool let's go." I grab my bottle of water and walk out. "I wonder what song they chose." Liam follows me down the hall.

I hold up my first to knock at the door, but stop myself. "Wanna listen in?" I turn to Liam with a smirk.

"Oh, mischievous now are we?" He smirks back.

"Okay shh.." I shush him and carefully crack the door from their sound proof room open. "This is real, this is me. I'm exactly where I'm supposed to be now." Jades voice comes through the crack.

"Gonna let the light, shine on me!" I carefully crack open the door slightly further and peak in with one eye.

"Now I found who I am, there's no way to hold it in." Jade is jamming it out and Harry's got his back turned to the door.

There's no way they're noticing us.

"No more hiding who I wanna be. This is me." Jade continues, bending at the loudest note.

Oh how this girl can be dramatic like she's an actual disney star.

"Let me see." Liam whispers and I feel his body pressing against my back, his head resting on top of mine so he can see through the crack.

"You're the voice I hear inside my head, the reason that I'm singing." Harry's part starts.

"I need to find you. I gotta find you." He walks towards Jade, "You're the missing piece I need, the song inside of me."

"I need to find you, I gotta find you." They close in on each other.

"What are you guys doing?" A whisper from Louis just in our ear. Liam and I both jump. I let go of the door and it swings open. Liam looses his balance and falls on top of me. Now we are both on the ground in Harry and Jade's practice room. "Are you hurt?" Is the first thing Liam asks, concerned that he might have hurt me. "No I'm fine." I laugh.

Harry and Jade immediately turn around in shock. But laugh when they see it's me and Liam on the floor. Jade turns down the music, "what are you doing here?" She laughs.

"HAHAHAHA" Louis laughs hysterically. "I got you guys good." He points at us mockingly as he enters the room.

"What's happening?" Harry laughs at Louis infectious laughter.

"We uhm." Liam rolls off of me. "We wanted to ask you if you'd like to join us for brunch." He pushes himself back up and straightens his clothes.

"Oh no these sneaky little basterts were listening in on your duet." Louis exposes us, still laughing hysterically.

"Guilty as charged." I sit up holding my hands in the air.

"Hahahaha you were watching us the whole time?" Jade laughs.

"You were doing great actually." Liam says to them as he helps me get back on my feet.

"Thanks mate." Harry walks over to him and pats him on the back. "Now about that brunch thing, I could use some fuel." The boys walk out together, Harry still holding his hand on Liams back.

"Are you coming Jade?" I ask her.

"Yes coming." She grabs her purse and we hurry after them.

"I don't want to loose too much practice time, so let's just get some snacks here." Jade points at the table filled with snacks available for the contestants.

"Good idea. My partner is expecting me back soon." Louis says as we sit down around it.

"Why were you in the hallway anyways?" Liam asks, picking up a donut from the snack table.

"My partner had to have her interview taken, and she also wanted to call her boyfriend or something." Louis shrugs, "thought I'd go see how you guys were doing in the meantime."

"Harry and Jade were doing great." I take a bite from my cupcake.

"Until you guys showed up." Harry laughs, opening a granola bar.

"What song are you guys doing anyway?" Jade asks, stuffing her face with a handful of M&M's.

I look over at Liam, and he looks at me. Without saying anything we know exactly what we're about to do.

"It's a surprise." I say.

"Oh no fair, you already know our song." Harry grumbles.

"Sorry mate, top secret." Liam plays along. "Were Nicoles grand opening act so cant spoil that."

"Oh you two feeling special now?" Louis says, raising an eyebrow.

Liam and I both keep our mouths shut, holding back a laugh, while they look at us strange. A silence follows, in which you can only hear Liam tapping his finger repeatedly on the table.

"Whelp, you guys can know mine." Louis breaks the awkward silence. "It's Summer Nights."

"Another Grease song?" Me and Jade both say surprised in unison.

"I mean it fits him." Liam shrugs.

"I like it." Harry stands up. "Now let's get back before one of the vocal coaches notices we're not rehearsing."
