Chapter 2: A Sweet Sibling Moment
The Dominico family mansion was alive with laughter, a rare sound that echoed through the grand hallways, filling the space with warmth. Tonight wasn't about business or mafia dealings - it was about family. Y/N had just a few more hours before she left for Japan, and her brothers had made a quiet decision: to make the most of these final moments together.
Y/N was sitting on the couch, scrolling through her phone, her usual icy demeanor intact. The weight of the mission, the responsibility of being the Mafia Queen, rested heavily on her shoulders, but tonight, she was determined to push it aside - if only for a few hours.
It was Han Seo, the youngest of the brothers, who first broke the quiet. He snuck into the kitchen, his eyes darting to the fridge as if on a secret mission. Y/N's favorite mint chocolate ice cream, a rare indulgence she allowed herself, was neatly placed in the back, tucked away as always. Han Seo, who had a habit of teasing his little sister, smiled mischievously as he grabbed the tub without a second thought.
As he closed the fridge door, he heard a faint sound from behind him. A cold voice, laced with warning. "Han Seo... don't even think about it."
But it was too late. He was already sitting on the couch with the ice cream tub in hand, casually digging into it with a spoon.
Y/N's head snapped up, her sharp eyes narrowing at him. "You're dead," she growled, her tone cold, but the mischievous glint in her eyes betrayed the playful side she rarely showed.
In an instant, Y/N was on her feet, and before anyone could react, she was charging toward Han Seo, her voice rising in playful fury. "You better give that back, you little thief!"
The room erupted in laughter as Y/N chased Han Seo, her usually cold and composed demeanor completely forgotten. Her brothers, witnessing the rare sight of their normally distant sister acting like a child, couldn't help but laugh louder, some even pretending to be shocked by her sudden outburst.
Vincenzo, the eldest, watched the scene unfold with an amused smile. "I never thought I'd see the day," he chuckled. "Y/N, the mafia queen, chasing after Han Seo for mint chocolate ice cream."
Yeon Su, who had been silently watching from the corner, leaned forward, a teasing smirk on his face. "I've never seen her this... alive before," he said. "She's usually so serious."
Song Jae, always the observant one, added, "She's got more of a soft spot for her ice cream than she lets on."
Min Seo, the ever-diplomatic brother, raised an eyebrow. "Who knew the great Mafia Queen had such a weakness."
Meanwhile, Han Seo, who was practically dancing around the room with the tub of ice cream in his hands, was laughing so hard that he could barely keep his balance. "Catch me if you can!" he shouted, darting past Y/N with a wide grin.
Y/N was relentless. "You are dead, Han Seo!" she yelled again, her voice now filled with laughter as she closed the distance between them. Despite her usual cold, composed nature, her laugh - clear and bright - echoed through the house, a sound that her brothers had never heard enough of.
Even Ryu Sio, the serious Russian king, couldn't help but let out a small laugh. "She's faster than I thought," he said, clearly enjoying the rare moment of his sister showing her true self.
At last, Y/N pounced, grabbing the tub of ice cream from Han Seo's hands, her breath coming in quick bursts from the chase. "Got it," she declared triumphantly, her eyes shining with a victorious gleam.
Han Seo, though outsmarted, grinned widely. "You're lucky this time, but you won't always win." He gave her a playful shove, not even the slightest bit bothered by his defeat.
The rest of the brothers gathered around, all of them watching with fond smiles as Y/N sat down with the ice cream tub. She took a spoonful, her expression still serious, but there was a faint softness in her gaze as she shared the moment with them.
"This is my ice cream," she said, trying to sound as cold and commanding as usual, but it was clear that her walls had come down, even if just for a moment. Her brothers had brought out the playful, childish side of her that she so often kept hidden.
Vincenzo, ever the eldest and protector, walked over and ruffled her hair, his grin widening. "You look better when you smile, little sister."
Y/N rolled her eyes, but the faintest blush crept up her neck, and for once, she didn't mind. "Shut up," she muttered, but there was no venom in her voice. Just a sense of comfort and familiarity.
Yeon Su playfully reached for the tub of ice cream. "Do you mind sharing, or are we going to have to fight you for it?"
Y/N narrowed her eyes at him. "You're all lucky I'm in a good mood," she said with a smirk, and then, for a split second, her cold demeanor softened entirely. "But I'm keeping the last scoop."
Her brothers erupted in laughter again, and for a moment, the weight of the world - the mission, the mafia, the secrets - seemed far away. Tonight, they were simply family, enjoying a rare, lighthearted moment together.
As Y/N laughed and playfully fought her brothers off with the tub of ice cream, she realized just how much she would miss this - their laughter, the teasing, the moments that felt like they belonged to another life. A life where she wasn't the Mafia Queen, where she was just a sister, a daughter, and a little girl at heart.
But as the night wore on and she prepared to leave, Y/N knew that no matter where she went or what she faced, these moments, these feelings, would always remain with her. And even if she was cold on the outside, her family had a way of melting that ice - one sweet moment at a time.
"Just remember," Han Seo said with a grin as Y/N reluctantly handed over the last scoop, "you'll never catch me next time."
Y/N gave him a playful shove, her usual cool composure back in place. "We'll see about that," she said, but her heart felt lighter than it had in a long time. For the first time in ages, she was just Y/N - the little sister - and nothing more.
