Chapter 2: A Sweet Sibling Moment (Continued)

From the doorway, Jay and Hirari Dominico stood side by side, silently watching the chaotic, joyful scene unfolding in the living room. Their eight children, normally so poised, so powerful, were laughing and playfully teasing one another, as though nothing in the world mattered except the happiness of being together.

Hirari smiled softly, her eyes glistening with fondness as she observed Y/N in the middle of the commotion. Her cold-hearted daughter, usually the epitome of control and strength, was now chasing after Han Seo, her laugh-genuine and carefree-filling the air.

Jay, his usually stoic demeanor softened, looked over at his wife. "She's really starting to open up more, isn't she?" His voice was calm, gentle, but the underlying tenderness was unmistakable.

Hirari nodded, her gaze lingering on Y/N. "She's been through so much... sometimes, I wonder if she'll ever truly heal."

She spoke more softly now, almost to herself. "Before... before her sister passed away, she was different. She was warm, kind-hearted, full of life." Her voice faltered for a moment, but she quickly steadied herself, the memories of their lost daughter never easy to recall. "Losing her twin sister... that broke her. It's like a part of her heart froze that day."

Jay's expression softened further, a quiet sadness flickering in his eyes. He knew how deep the bond had been between the two sisters-how they had been inseparable, like two halves of the same soul. He placed a hand on his wife's shoulder, offering silent support.

Hirari continued, her eyes fixed on Y/N, now sitting with the ice cream tub and teasing her brothers. The cold mask Y/N always wore seemed to melt just a little more in these precious moments with her family. "I just hope... one day, she finds someone who will be able to break through the ice around her heart. Someone who can make her warm again-like she used to be. Before the death of her sister."

Jay's eyes softened at the thought. "It's not about weakness, Hirari. Y/N blames herself for not being able to save her sister, but she was just a child. She did everything she could. The guilt she carries... it's a heavy burden."

Hirari's eyes filled with a quiet sadness. "I know... I know she wasn't weak. But sometimes, I can see that part of her that longs for something she can't have. She thinks she failed, that if she were stronger, maybe she could have saved her sister from those enemies. It's why she built up those walls around her heart. To protect herself."

Jay let out a small sigh. "You're right. She needs to heal. And I think... maybe she's starting to. Slowly, but surely."

As the two stood there watching their children, a warmth seemed to radiate in the room-something rare in the cold, mafia-driven world they lived in. The laughter, the playful teasing, and the bond between their children, even Y/N with her usual guarded nature, made it clear to both of them that their family was still full of love.

Hirari reached out and gently squeezed her husband's hand. "I just want her to be happy again, Jay. I want to see the girl she used to be-the one who smiled freely, who had hope in her eyes. I hope, one day, she finds someone who can heal that cold heart."

Jay smiled softly, his voice firm with conviction. "She'll find her way. And if anyone can melt that ice, it's family. We'll make sure of it."

Hirari glanced back at Y/N, who was now playfully holding her ice cream tub high above her head, daring her brothers to try and steal it. Her usual icy demeanor had thawed, even if just for a moment. And Hirari knew-deep down-that Y/N would find warmth again. Whether through time, or through the people she loved, Y/N would heal. And when that day came, the whole family would be there to help her rediscover the warmth of her heart.

For now, though, they would cherish these fleeting moments-moments of laughter and lightness that, for a brief time, made the heavy burdens they all carried seem a little easier to bear.
