As night fell, Tomo found herself in Y/N’s room, anxiously pacing and trying every tactic she could think of. "Y/N, please," she whispered, glancing over her shoulder as if expecting Shio to appear any moment. "Just let me sleep here tonight. You heard what he said! If I go back, I… I might not be able to walk tomorrow!"
Y/N chuckled, trying her best to keep a straight face but clearly enjoying Tomo's rare moment of vulnerability. Before she could respond, though, the door swung open, and there stood Ryu Shio with a determined look on his face.
Without a word, he stepped inside, swept Tomo into his arms bridal-style, and ignored her half-hearted attempts to wriggle free. As he carried her toward the door, Y/N smirked, leaning against the wall with her arms crossed. "You know, Tomo," she teased, "I don’t mind being an aunt early, if that’s where this is going."
Tomo’s cheeks flushed, and she shot Y/N a pleading look over Shio's shoulder. "Traitor!" she mouthed, earning a laugh from Y/N. Shio just smirked, tightening his hold on Tomo as he carried her out of the room, closing the door behind him.
As they left, Y/N could only shake her head, amused by her friend’s predicament. Tomo’s protests echoed down the hall, but Y/N knew they were in safe hands. With a content smile, she prepared to call it a night, hoping her friend would get at least some sleep.
In the privacy of their room, Ryu Shio set Tomo down, keeping her close as he studied her face, still flushed from embarrassment and maybe even a bit of nervous excitement. She looked away, biting her lip and trying to keep her composure, but his gaze was steady, gentle yet resolute."Tomo," he whispered, brushing a loose strand of hair away from her face. "Why did you think you could run from me?"
Tomo swallowed, feeling her heart racing. "I… I didn’t think you’d actually show up here. And you… you were mad."
He laughed softly, a deep, comforting sound that melted her remaining anxiety. "I was worried," he corrected, "because you didn’t tell me where you were. I care about you more than anything, and I need to know you’re safe."
Seeing her hesitation fade, he softened even more. "Do you know how long I’ve waited to see you again?"
Tomo felt a surge of warmth and, with a sigh, let herself lean into him. She had been on the run, guarded about her feelings, but here, in his arms, it all seemed to disappear. He gently lifted her chin, meeting her eyes.
They shared a kiss, starting tender and growing deeper, as if trying to make up for lost time. His hand rested at her waist, pulling her close as the world outside faded away. For the first time in a long time, Tomo felt completely vulnerable yet secure. She didn’t need to run, not from him. They spent the night tangled in each other’s warmth, sharing whispered promises and quiet moments, feeling as if nothing could come between them.
By morning, Tomo had no regrets—just a warm heart and a sense that, for the first time, she was exactly where she was meant to be.
As everyone sat at the breakfast table, chuckling and sharing lighthearted banter, they suddenly heard a commotion in the hallway. Tomo’s unmistakable voice echoed through the house, filled with frustration.
“I hate you, Ryu Shio! I’m serious this time—you’re never sleeping in the same bed as me again, even after we’re married!” she exclaimed, half-scolding, half-groaning as she weakly hit his shoulder.
Ryu Shio, carrying her effortlessly, just grinned. “You say that now,” he teased, “but I remember you saying something entirely different last night.”
Tomo’s face turned beet red, and she let out an exasperated sigh, trying to wriggle out of his hold. “Look at this! I can barely walk because of you, you moron!”
