Sana had slowly started to accept their marriage, bit by bit. She’d been kinder, the arguments had lessened, and she’d even made an effort to support Jungwon when he needed it.

Things were finally starting to feel like they were heading in the right direction. Yet here he was, slipping on a nice shirt and calling out, “I’m going out,” as he grabbed his keys.

Sana, curled up on the couch with a bag of chips, raised an eyebrow as she glanced up from the TV. Something felt off. He wasn’t holding his gym bag, nor was he dressed like he was going to class or work.

“Where to?” She asked, her eyes trailing over his outfit, sharp and polished in a way that seemed unusual.

Jungwon hesitated at the door, barely looking back. “Just meeting a friend. I’ll be back before six,” He said, with a casualness that only made her more suspicious. To deflect, he added, “I’ll bring you some cheese kimbap.”

Without giving her a chance to respond, he slipped out, closing the door behind him. For a few moments, Sana stared at the door, feeling a pang of unease settle in her chest.

He’d apologized sincerely last time. She’d given him her trust. And yet, the way he’d avoided her gaze, the stiffness in his posture… It was all too familiar.

Sana sank back into the couch with a sigh, trying to shake off the worry, but she couldn’t quite convince herself. "Please, Jungwon. Don't disappoint me again. I’ve started trusting you."

...

Across town, Jungwon entered the restaurant, glancing around cautiously.

Jiyeon was already there, waiting at the entrance, her eyes lighting up as she saw him. He stiffened when she linked her arm through his, immediately stepping away, but not before Mingi — hidden in the distance — snapped a picture.

Watching the two of them, Mingi chuckled under his breath, zooming in to capture every angle.

“Kim Jungwon, you’re a fool for letting this woman mess with your life,” He muttered to himself as he watched. “Just wait until Sana sees this.” He continued taking photos, capturing Jiyeon’s hand lingering on Jungwon’s arm and their conversation over dinner.

Mingi smirked as he looked through the photos on his camera. They were damning, each one a picture-perfect portrayal of deception.

He didn’t linger long, deciding he had all the evidence he needed. As he left, he passed their table, catching Jiyeon’s eye and giving her a wink and a thumbs-up before making his way out.

After printing the photos, he slid them into an envelope and headed straight to Sana and Jungwon’s house, where he dropped them off on the front step with a smug smile.

...

Sana was deeply engrossed in her show when the doorbell rang.

At first, she ignored it — Jungwon had repeatedly told her not to answer if she was alone. But as the sound faded, she noticed an envelope lying outside. Curiosity got the best of her, and she stepped out to pick it up.

Her name was written on the front in a hurried scrawl. Frowning, she opened it up and slid out a stack of photos, her eyes scanning the first few shots. As she took them in, her heart clenched.

There he was, her husband, with Jiyeon.

She saw Jiyeon’s arm wrapped around Jungwon’s, their laughter, the intimate setting of their meal together. In every shot, Jungwon looked comfortable — almost happy. Sana’s mind buzzed with anger, her thoughts racing back to his casual 'meeting a friend.'
