Sana returned from the bedroom wearing an oversized jersey that nearly swallowed her frame, paired with baggy shorts that fell just below her knees. She looked adorably mismatched, almost like a child dressed by her parents, and Jungwon couldn't hold back a laugh.

“What’s so funny?” She pouted, crossing her arms.

He grinned. “You’re not even playing, Sana. Why are you so dressed up?”

She straightened her shoulders, undeterred. “Who said I wasn’t? I’m going to be the best goalkeeper you’ve ever had.” There was a glimmer of determination in her eyes, though he suspected she had no idea what she was getting into.

Jungwon chuckled and held the door open for her, following as she hurried to his car. But just as she reached it, she turned to see him walking past, heading toward the gate instead.

“What are you doing?” She asked, confused.

“We need to warm up first. Let’s jog there,” He replied, already stretching out his arms.

She let out a small groan, dragging her feet. “But that’s tiring.”

“I told you to stay home.” He raised an eyebrow. “It’s not too late to go back inside, you know.”

Sana shook her head, clutching his arm. “No. I want to go with you.”

After last night, she felt a new kind of attachment to him — one she couldn’t shake. She wanted to stay by his side, even if it meant an early-morning jog.

Once they reached the court, Jungwon handed her a pair of gloves, unable to hide his amused smile as she took her place as goalkeeper. Her form was clumsy, and each time the ball came within a few feet, she squealed and ducked out of the way, barely making an effort to block it.

“Sana, you’re supposed to block the ball, not dodge it!” He teased, laughing so hard his stomach hurt.

“This is tiring!” She complained, blowing a strand of hair out of her face as she gave up entirely, leaning against the goalpost.

Their playful antics began drawing a small crowd around the court, people peering over to catch a glimpse of the scene. It was clear they recognized Sana, and she quickly turned her face, trying to hide behind her hair.

“Stop laughing, Jungwon! People are watching!” She whispered, tugging at his sleeve. “Cover your face, or they’ll see you too!”

But Jungwon shook his head, surprising her. “I’m tired of hiding,” Je said quietly, his voice steady. “There’s no need to anymore.”

Sana gaped at him, realizing Chaeyoung was right — perhaps their time together last night had truly softened something in him. It was like a weight had lifted, even if just a little, and he seemed more comfortable in his own skin.

He handed her a water bottle, gesturing toward the small crowd. “Go ahead. They’re your fans. I’ll be right here.”

Sana took a sip, then moved over to greet a few of them, smiling and chatting. To her surprise, none of them paid much attention to Jungwon, probably assuming he was just another staff member or her manager.

Once the crowd dispersed, she returned to the bench where Jungwon was waiting. She had packed lunch, and as he sat down beside her, she unpacked the containers, spreading out the food she’d carefully prepared.

“You don’t stop, do you?” He teased, noticing her face was still flushed and a little sweaty. “Are you okay?”

She smirked, pretending to be unfazed. “I’m fine. I could play another round if you’re up for it.” But her labored breathing betrayed her.
