"Do you have to go?" I whined. Layla sighed as she put her hand under my chin to make me look at her. Layla has to go on a business trip, what for, no idea. She works at a coffee shop, what business traveling do you need for that. And on top of that, she won't tell me where she's going.
"It's only for three days you will be fine," I whined even louder as I laid my head back down in her lap. We were currently watching a movie and she just dropped the 'I'm leaving' bomb on me. I mean come on! I already have to deal with Skylar and Melanie, Layla was the only person who kept me sane. The movie finished and the credits started to roll on the screen. "You know you do have to let me go right?" Oh, also, she has to leave tonight. And by tonight I mean right now. She already has her bags packed, and only stopped by to tell me she's leaving. I ended up making her stay with me for a movie but now she does have to leave.
I groaned as I slowly stood up to let her go free. "Can you at least tell me why you're leaving?" I asked. She was about to say something but shook her head instead. She stood up and wrapped her arms around my waist.
"Three days, that's it, I promise." I faked crying to which she just chuckled and kissed me. I tried to save the kiss for a little longer but she ended up pulling away. "I'll see you in three days." I rolled my eyes. "Okay?" I slowly nodded my head and followed her to the door. "Feel free to stay at my place if you want, the key is under the doormat." I rolled my eyes again.
"Typical." She smiled and kissed me one more time.
"Three days." I sighed loudly.
"Three days." I squinted my eyes. "Why the hell are we acting like you'll be gone for three months?"
"Because you're a freaking baby that why." My mouth flew open and I slammed the door in her face. I heard her laughing on the other end making me smile as I walked back towards my couch. I grabbed my phone off of the table stand and lay down. It kills me how I only have one friend.
"Hello?"
"Hey Nate, I'm lonely come over."
"If you were any other girl I would say this sounds like a booty call." I rolled my eyes.
"You wish."
"You have no idea." We both started laughing.
"Just get over here. Layla is going out of town and I have wine."
"Why the hell didn't you just start with the wine? I would have been over there without a question." I groaned into the pillow that replaced Layla. I am friends with an idiot. I hung up the phone and grabbed two wine glasses out of my kitchen and two bottles of red wine. I heard a ding on my phone signaling that someone texted me. I grabbed my phone and looked at it. Unfortunately, it was Skylar.
"Where are you?"
I sighed as I put my phone down. I mean she can see that I've read it so I can't ignore it. The ding came again and I looked at it.
"Do not ignore me!"
I threw my tiny little fit grateful that I didn't brake my phone.
"At home, where else would I be at 9:45?"
"At that sluts house."
"She's not a slut so stop calling her that, and she left for a few days."
Never have I ever regretted saying something so much in my entire life. Why the hell would I tell her that? Awhhhhh!
"Well good I don't want any more distractions. I want you in my office by 5:00 am tomorrow."
