When Shreyas and Maya heard Vedang and Akshvi's story, they were both astonished. They couldn't believe Vedang had done something like this, given how well they knew him. Vedang was very conscious of his image, and this was something no one would expect of him. Maya, after some thought, said, "Akshvi, there's something odd about boss's behavior."
"Isn't there? I feel it too. Just his presence gives me the chills," Akshvi replied.
Maya laughed and said, "Oh, I didn't mean it like that! What I was getting at is... maybe boss likes you?"
"Haye Ram, Subh Subh boliye, Maya! Yeh kaisi apshaguni baatein kar rahin hain aap? (Oh my! Don't say such ominous things, Maya! What are you suggesting?)" Akshvi exclaimed, quickly murmuring prayers under her breath.
Maya burst into laughter, amused by Akshvi's reaction. She said, "I was just saying it's a possibility, but honestly, I doubt it. Vedang Sehgal just isn't the type to fall in love."
"Why? What makes you think he can't fall in love?" Akshvi asked, puzzled.
Maya finished her coffee and replied, "Because what girl would want to date a workaholic, rude, and arrogant guy like him? I mean, he's usually nice to me, but sometimes... I feel like throwing my heels at his head."
Akshvi laughed at her friend's exasperation. "You're right. Why would any girl want to ruin her own life?"

Meanwhile, at the bar, Shreyas listened to Vedang and remarked, "Well, I think these two girls have brought a lot of changes to your life, Ved!"
"Changes? What do you mean?" Vedang asked, confused.
Shreyas took a sip and said, "Ridhika."
"I still don't understand, Shrey," Vedang replied, tightening his grip on his glass.
With a slight smile, Shreyas explained, "I asked you to come here tonight because I thought you'd be feeling down. Old wounds from seven years ago have reopened. You ran into Ridhika after all these years, so I figured this would give you a chance to share your feelings. But..."
"But?" Vedang prompted.
Shreyas looked at him and said, "But since you arrived, you haven't even mentioned your past. Not once did you bring up Ridhika's name. All you've been talking about are Buttercup and Akshvi! It seems like you're finally moving on, Ved. Maybe your life is getting back on track, my friend. Whether you end up with Akshvi or Buttercup, your heart will guide you. But I think a new chapter in your life has begun-a happy chapter."
