Once everyone left the hall, Rhaenyra went to her chamber's with her children. Daenys clung to her mother like a lifeline. While the boys followed behind, with their heads down, knowing what was to come.
Upon arriving, Rhaenyra sat down with her daughter in her lap. She let the maester work on her arm as she looked to her boys. Daenys watched the maester closely with narrowed eyes and a low growl, making sure he did not do anything wrong. The maester kept his head down, working on the Princess' arm nervously, as he felt the heat of the young girl's stare on him and the warning she was going.
"What is wrong with you, Jace? Attaching your sister because you thought she stole a dragon, that by the way you can't steal a dragon, they choose you. And you carried on your attack after Luke reminded you she did not understand." Rhaenyra ranted at her oldest son. "She did not know what you were saying, and she was hurt for it."
"She understood when we were in the hall!" Jace snapped at his mother.
"Becasue the questions kept getting repeated!" Rhaenyra snapped back at him. "She does not know what we are saying right now, or she would be inputing her side. Luke, tell me the whole truth now, please." She asked softly to her middle son.
Luke looked at his brother as if seeking his approval.
"No, don't look at your brother when I asked you something. Now tell me exactly what happened." Rhaenyra said firmly cause Luke to look at her then down at his hands before telling his mother exactly what had happened.
Rhaenyra looked at her oldest son and scowled.
"How dare you!" Rhaenyra's voice got louder, and before she could carry on, Laenor walked through the door.
"God's be good, I came as soon as I heard." Laenor said in worry while he wobbled on his feet.
As he got too close to Rhaenyra, while she was having her arm stitched up, Daenys growled loudly at him, causing him to jump.
"Hey, don't you growl at me." He snapped at her before backing up, realising his mistake.
"Don't you snap at her! Where were you?" She snapped at Laenor, holding her daughter a little closer. " Where were you when needed you? Hum."
Still, he did not answer, causing her to sigh in annoyance before looking to the door, calling out to the knight on the other side.
"Yes, Princess." The knight said, bowing his head.
"Take my sons to their chamber's and have a knight stand watch. Make sure they do not leave again." She replied tiredly but firm.
"Yes, Princess." He replied, quickly taking the boys from the room.
As they left, Rhaenyra looked at her daughter, seeing her falling asleep, and smiled. She gently placed her down on her bed, kissing the top of her head.
"I'll be right back, I promise." She whispered gently.
She walked back to where Laenor was glaring at him.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to snap at her." Laenor said regretfully.
"You have been doing it more and more as of late." Rhaenyra still held the glare on her face. While laenor bowed his head.
When silence fell and Rhaenyra knew he wasn't going to reply, she huffed, looking away.
"Do you wish for a free life? Out of this court and out of this duty?" Rhaenyra asked him, as she already planned everything with Daemon. "If so, you can have it. But it will come at a price."
"What price?" Laenor asked, wanting to know if this was a trick.
"You can not take seasmoke." Rhaenyra replied as if it was obvious. "You do not take him flying. You'd rather spend time with the squires. Instead of your children and dragon. So you can be free if you wish, but you lose your dragon in the process."
He thought for a moment before speaking up.
"How?" He asked.
"We fake your death later tonight before we leave for dragonstone, but you will be getting on another ship with your lover and sailing away. You will have gold to live on." She said without batting an eye lid.
"Can I say goodbye to my kids before I go?" Laenor asked hopefully.
Rhaenyra nodded.
"Just don't wake them up."
Laenor smiled before going first over to his daughter and apologising to her, then kissing her head. Then he headed to the boys' rooms and did the same. He also said goodbye to his sisters kids before he went in with the plan to fake his death.
Once all was done, Rhaenyra woke her children up and got to the ship with Daemon and his daughters. All they had was the change of clothes and whatever was ont he ship.
The boat took off from Shaw being followed by the dragons as they headed home. Daenys still tired curled up on the bed in the ship.
The kids played and spoke amongst themselves.
"Will she ever forgive us?" Rhaena asked.
"Who?" Jace asked her, confused.
"Daenys. Will she forgive us for doing what we did?" Rhaena tried asking again.
"I don't know. I think we have to earn her trust back again." Jace said, sounding sad.
"How do we do that?" Rhaena, but no one had, and idea.
None of them noticed Daemon standing behind them until he spoke up, making them jump.
"You start by apologising to her." Daemon said with an unreadable expression. "In high valyrian so she can understand what you are saying." You could see the fire in his eyes as he spoke.
They all lowered their heads as his daughters tried to apologise to him.
"Not to me, you need to make it up to Daenys." He snapped.
