Satoro’s POV:
The once chaotic scene in Rin’s subspace had settled slightly. Thanks to Artemis’ playful meddling, the ground beneath us had transformed into a lush expanse roughly 1,000 km by 2,000 km in size, complete with a ridiculous day-night cycle. It was hard to believe this massive landmass was just a small island in an infinite subspace.
Rin, arms crossed, was still sulking as I approached her. I could already hear her irritated grumbling under her breath.
“Well, Rin,” I started, crossing my arms in mock seriousness, “you could actually make this subspace part of your soul corridor. That way, you could connect it to your mana storage and—”
“Do it yourself, genius!” she snapped, her usual pout in full force. “What do I care about all this technical crap?”
I smirked. “You’re just mad because you don’t understand it.”
Her glare could have killed a weaker man. “I swear, Satoro, if you start lecturing me—”
“Relax, I’ll handle it,” I said, cutting her off. It wasn’t like it was hard. Establishing a connection between her subspace and her soul corridor was child’s play, especially since our soul corridors had been linked since we were ten. Twins made it easy something about similar energy signatures and resonance.
I reached out, subtly weaving the threads of her subspace into the metaphysical space of her soul corridor. It took some effort to stabilize everything especially since it wasn’t just her. Archer, Medea, Astolfo, and even Artemis had soul corridor links with me now, though their connections were way more complex to set up compared to Rin’s.
Artemis, being my own creation, was a different story altogether. Adding her to the system was as easy as flipping a switch. Still, this connection turned Rin’s subspace into something completely new. It wasn’t just a detached dimension anymore it became a fully integrated metaphysical space tied directly to her soul.
By the time I finished, Rin’s subspace felt different. Stronger. The connection with her soul corridor had stabilized it, turning the space into a full-blown unique skill.
“Done,” I said, brushing imaginary dust off my hands.
Rin, ever the skeptic, tilted her head. “What do you mean, ‘done’? What did you even do?”
I sighed. “I integrated your subspace into your soul corridor and engraved it as an ability. You’ve basically got a new unique skill now.”
She blinked at me, unimpressed. “Explain it like I’m a dumb Honkai player. Why the hell do I have a notification in my mind saying something about ‘Unique Skill: Cocoon of Finality’?!”
Ah, the Voice of the World. I forgot she’d hear that. “Fine, fine,” I said, holding up my hands. “Think of it like this: your subspace isn’t just a space you created anymore. It’s part of you now. Your soul corridor stores all the information about your existence, and I engraved your subspace into that. It’s permanent, stable, and way more functional.”
She squinted at me, still pouting. “What does it *do,* genius?”
“Ask the Voice of the World,” I teased.
Sure enough, Rin’s eyes narrowed as the voice rattled off the details in her mind:
---
**Unique Skill: Cocoon of Finality**
Sub-skills:
- Analysis & Assess: Allows for immediate understanding of objects, concepts, and phenomena within her range.
- Thought Acceleration: Speeds up cognitive processes up to 10,000 times normal speed.
- Magical Aura: A passive enhancement that coats weapons or objects with mana, allowing them to cut through spiritual or metaphysical barriers.
- Storage Space (Cocoon):A nearly infinite storage space directly tied to her soul.
- Magical Perception:Enables sensing up to 1,000 km away, perceiving molecular structures, and understanding any language.
- Law Manipulation: Allows alteration of magical laws within her affinities (space, fire, and others).
- Space Manipulation: Enables spatial control without spells, limited only by coordinates and mana reserves.---
Rin scowled as the explanation continued in her mind. “Why does it sound so… dramatic? And what’s with the name? Cocoon of Finality? That’s so cringe!”
I shrugged. “Hey, blame the Voice of the World. It stabilizes abilities as unique skills by defining them through causality and laws. The name’s set in stone now.”
Her scowl deepened. “Can’t I change it?”
“Not without breaking the ability entirely,” I said, smirking at her growing frustration.
“Ugh, this is your fault,” she groaned, rubbing her temples.
“It’s not all bad,” I said, feigning innocence. “The unique skill makes your soul stronger and more stable. Plus, you’ve got some pretty cool perks now.”
She shot me a withering look. “You’re lucky I don’t smack you right now.”
Archer, leaning against a nearby tree, decided to chime in. “I think the name suits her. Dramatic and unnecessarily complicated just like Rin.”
“Shut up, Archer!” Rin snapped, spinning on her heel to glare at him.
Meanwhile, Shirou was still getting tossed around by Artoria, who seemed to be having the time of her life.
“Focus, Shirou!” Artoria barked, effortlessly blocking his clumsy strikes.
Archer sighed, muttering under his breath. “Guess I’ll have to bully him too.”
I turned my attention back to Rin, who was still sulking. “Look, Rin,” I said, trying to placate her, “this is a good thing. You’ve basically got a metaphysical fortress now. Your subspace is protected by your soul, and you’ve got full control over it without needing spells. You’re way stronger than before.”
She crossed her arms, pouting. “Whatever. I still hate the name.”
“Noted,” I said, suppressing a grin.
Deep down, though, I couldn’t help but feel a bit proud. Despite her complaints, Rin would come to appreciate this. It was a game-changer, and knowing her, she’d turn it into something incredible.
But for now, I’d let her pout. It was kind of cute.
