Hana's POV
The morning dew hasn't even settled when I arrive at Training Ground 44 - the Forest of Death. Orochimaru's chakra signature coils there, ancient and powerful, like a serpent waiting in shadows.
"Your sensing range has increased," he notes before I even step into the clearing. "Twenty meters more than yesterday."
"Twenty-three," I correct, then immediately regret it when his golden eyes gleam with interest.
"Show me." His chakra expands, creating shadow clones that scatter in different directions. "Track them. Tell me their nature types."
I close my eyes, extending my awareness. The first clone - water nature, moving northeast. Second - fire, northwest. Third - earth, directly south. Each signature distinct, yet carrying traces of Orochimaru's unique chakra pattern.
"Interesting," he purrs when I identify them all. "Your sensory abilities are evolving faster than anticipated. Perhaps we should... experiment further."
He launches into a series of hand signs so fast they blur. Suddenly, the air fills with different chakra signatures - some human, some animal, some I can't even classify.
"Filter them," he commands. "Separate the real from the false."
Hours later, muscles trembling from chakra exhaustion, I drag myself to the Uchiha compound where Shisui waits.
"You look terrible," he greets cheerfully.
"Thanks."
"Ready to work on your speed?"
Shisui is the one with the greatest improvement among us . He became one of the fastest shinobi in the leaf as Orichimaru sensei said , especially while using the body flicker technique that he mastered .
I groan. Training with Shisui means trying to track him while he uses his Body Flicker technique - a nearly impossible task that leaves me bruised and frustrated.
"Your sensing won't help if you can't move fast enough to respond," he lectures, already disappearing and reappearing around me. "Track, predict, react!"
His fist comes at me from the left - no, right - I barely dodge, only to meet his knee rising toward my stomach. I flip backward, channeling chakra to enhance my movements like he taught me.
"Better!" He grins, flickering again. "Now add your taijutsu combinations!"
By sunset, I'm sprawled on the grass, every muscle screaming. Shisui tosses me a water bottle.
"You're getting faster," he offers. "Almost touched me that last time."
"Almost isn't good enough."
"No," his expression turns serious. "It's not."
At home, I spread out the Uzumaki scrolls across my floor. Complex sealing matrices stare back at me, each more intricate than the last. My mother's notes fill the margins:
'Barrier Seals - Level 1-5
- Protective
- Containment
- Detection
- Absorption
- ReflectionChakra Seals
- Storage
- Transfer
- Suppression
- EnhancementTime-Space Seals (Secret techniques)
The symbols swim before my tired eyes, but I force myself to focus. Each matrix is like a puzzle, chakra pathways that need to be understood before they can be manipulated.
I trace a basic containment seal, channeling chakra carefully through the brush. The ink glows faintly - success. But it's just the beginning. The more complex seals require perfect chakra control, precise timing, and an understanding of fundamental forces that makes my head spin.
