SIN

"Is that really necessary?" I asked dryly as we stopped yet again, for him to close his eyes and breathe in the dry and stuffy sulfur air of the Underworld "It's the same air we breathed in at the Prison."

"It's not" He shook his head, his eyes still closed "This air smells like freedom."

I stared at him "Just how long were you in there?"

His eyes opened, he stare so unnerving that I started to feel uncomfortable and itchy in my own skin.

"I was one of the first ones to be imprisoned here" He stated.

My eyebrows raised at his honestly "And how long ago was that?"

"A long time" He murmured and then started walking "Are you coming?"

I followed behind him, temporarily choosing to ignore the ominous feeling that was currently coursing through my stomach.

Because while I came to the conclusion that I did need him to escape Hell, something told me that I might just regret my decision in the near future.

"Can you explain the plan to me one more time" I asked, matching his stride "Because while I understand the gist of it, I don't understand how it could benefit us."

"Did Hades son ever explain to you the Parallels between the Underworld and the Human Realm?"

"He did." I nodded

"So you must know that whatever happens up there is mirrored down here" he stated, his bare feet squashing a red colored scorpion like it was a simple ant "The further we travel up, the more this world starts to mimic the human one."

"And that's beneficial because...?"

"Because at this very moment I know that your Mate has figured out what he needs to do in order to save" He said "And while six of the seven chose to travel to the Human Realm and create chaos for the mortals, the seventh one chose to come here."

I stared at his back, even more confused than I was before "The Seventh what?"

"The Sins" he said without glancing back at me "We need to find and kill the Seventh Sin before Hecate's followers do."

"Hold on, wait a minute" My eyes widened almost comically "The Sin? As in a Deadly Sins? You know, the ones they teach in Sunday school?"

"Why do I detect disbelief in your tone?" He snorted "Surely by now, you must realize that everything you believed to be stories are real?"

"Every single one of them?" I asked hesitantly, knowing that there were some pretty fucked up tragedies in some of the stories passed down from different religions and denominations.
