chapter three - pointless bickering

after Brad realized you wouldn't leave even if he ignored you he decided maybe he just needed to piss you off enough to leave him alone instead that should surely work he thought
He leans over to the bed, making sure you could hear him well enough
"you know, I can't believe you would hurt me like this. Was it worth it getting that little sword for me having to cut through all those people did they all deserve it did I deserve it I'm resting here in the bed because of you. I hope you know that. "
that began to stir something inside you but you try to assure yourself that he's just messing around with you and that he doesn't actually mean what he's saying

Brad saw he was beginning to get a reaction from you and that's exactly what he wanted so he continue pushing forward
"or wait have you cut people down before to get sword like this one? I bet you have I mean you have that shiny blue one on your back you kill someone for that one too?  Are you just so greedy that you have to get your hands on every sword that shines.? "
His voice was mocking, and it took a lot to get you upset, but that got you going something about the way he mocked you the way he brought up the death. He was only doing like he was instructed to sword and continue to save builderman
you spat out a little more annoying and slipping out of your voice, and you intended
"I'm only doing what I'm doing because I need to save someone else"
Brad Put a hand to his mouth and laughed.
"oh someone's getting all defensive now~ I'm so scared. Please don't yell at me. I'm already hurt."
you took a deep breath, sitting back down in the seat, knowing that arguing with him more wouldn't do anything except egg him on to continue.
you went back to sitting on your phone and listening to his heart monitor .  he groaned again once you stop giving him a reaction. it was no fun just sitting here just laying in bed listening to the machine connected to him. He looks over and sees you're playing a game on your phone smirks.
He reaches out and snatches the phone from your hand.  you quickly make a sound in protest and try to grab it back, but he held it over himself before you could get over there and you couldn't risk leaning over him because if he ends up hurt, the mayor would feel betrayed he asked you to protect his child and if you can't even do that, then what was worth it?
you take a deep breath as you just let him play on your phone.
"so you got all sorts of apps on this phone hm.?" you just let out a huff in annoyance. He found some shooter game and decided to play that.

(Time skip a few hours because all he did was play some games)

You eventually took your phone back, checking the time it was time for you to leave and the hospital was closing up .  You stood stretching your limbs. After sitting for so long, it felt good to stretch them out again. Brad looked at you for a few seconds and hesitantly, opened his mouth to say something closing it again before saying
"already got tired of me or something? Have you had your taunting me and you leave me alone to rot. "  He said, annoyed. The doctor poked and prodded at him, looked at him like he was an anomaly. the last thing he needed was his company, even if that company was fun to mock it was still company that wasn't the doctors asking questions.
"yeah yeah yeah I don't worry too much. I'll be back tomorrow.."
Brad tried to act disappointed, letting out of loud groan "I see you tomorrow.. Ugh."
But he had to admit, at least he gets past the time by bullying someone that gives him at least a little bit of a reaction.
