Chapter nine - catching on

as Brad came home, he tried to sneak back into his room so he could change back into some of his other clothing. The last thing he needed was his dad asking questions. But unlucky for him, his dad was already waiting in the kitchen, which she needed to sneak right by to make it to his room.
He tried to sneak quietly, but the creek floorboard gave it away as he held his breath. His dad looked back and raised eyebrow.
"oh you're back you certainly took a little longer than usu- you're not wearing your own set of clothing..?"
Looked down at the set of clothing he had borrowed from you and rubs the back of his neck and embarrassedly
"I don't know what you're talking about. I just wanted to change my style and u-uh."
The mayor could see right through him immediately
"you borrowed that from your friend, didn't you? I'm glad to see that you are bonding that well. You should get back to them tomorrow.. "
Brad takes a deep breath and relief he flooded his dad would question it more but luckily he didn't
"yeah yeah yeah the only reason I didn't give it back to them already is because by the time I was already out the door they called me back and that was when I realized."
Mayor Thanyeil brought a hand to his mouth and laughed softly, which Brad let out a huff  of air and puffed up his cheeks.
it was sad because he never really got this defensive even with the slight teasing he would do. He began to craft a theory  but couldn't put it into motion yet.
he would watch for the next two days as they went back-and-forth to each other's house. The mayor actually invited you over to his house today just to observe more. and oh boy had fallen hook line and sinker for you.  when you were talking and tell stories, you would look at you putting a hand on his chin. Sometimes he wouldn't even listen to what you were saying in the story but instead listen to your voice listen to the undertone watch your mouth moves.
Reminds him when he was younger when he was young and dumb in love.

The mayor offered both of you from tea, which Brad of course refused saying
"why would I want to drink leaf water."
you laugh, but take the tea when Brad sees you take the tea he glances and sighs
"I guess I'll try some of it." he spoke in a huffy tone
Not only was he acting nicer around you, but he was also willing to try new things how sweet you really are a good influence on him after all .

You both a couple of tea giving Brad a more sweet tea, knowing that he's not really into the herbal flavors well he gives you a classic Earl Gray  Brad was actually pleasantly surprised enjoying the fruity flavors of the tea. You smile as he smiles Brad hesitantly admitted
"for leaf water this isn't too bad.."
You couldn't help but laugh at that statement  
By now, Brad has gotten back his jacket and the player have gotten his clothing back, but he does notice that Brad is almost happy to lend his jacket to the player if they somehow forget their own..

by now it was quite obvious what was going on, but he just needed to find out for himself. What was going on
he waves goodbye to you as you leave and then turns to Brad
"so you found the person you want to spend your time with"
Brad was still sipping on the tea before he quickly spat it out
"Pffft. What *cough* I don't know what you're talking about there.  Date me..? .... Haha no... "
it was honestly kind of funny to see how he denied or at least try to
"I remember that young and how in love I was it's right to feel that way it happens to all of us.  I'm glad at least you chose a good influence to have feelings for they seem like such a kind soul. "
Brad covered his face with his hands
"Dad...!" he said in a whiny tone
The mayor only laughed softly as Brad went to his room
