I felt an overwhelming sensation of being watched. It was only when I looked up at the sky that I noticed the clouds forming a mesmerizing spectacle of shapes and patterns like I'd never seen before. The storm had passed, and high above, I caught sight of a white speck fading between the clouds. "Let's head back," I said. "Soldiers, behind me!" proclaimed Luke to the warriors following him. We had barely taken fifty steps when the ground beneath us gave way, and we fell helplessly through the clouds, now tinged with the golden hues of sunset. Our screams echoed through the skies until we were caught by several creatures, part eagle, part lion, that appeared suddenly. "Griffins!" exclaimed Cat, struggling to recover from the fall and balance herself on the creature. "What magnificent animals!" Seth remarked. It was a long journey on the backs of the griffins, a journey with no clear destination. They were guiding us. We passed plateaus, mountains, lush valleys, and even a desert until we reached our final stop: a cave nestled in a snowy mountain. But it wasn't just any cave. It was colossal, with crystals hanging from the ceiling, patiently dripping water that formed new crystals on the ground. In the distance, we heard a roar that sent the griffins fleeing—and honestly, would've scared me off too if Sophia hadn't grabbed my arm with a look that said, "Don't even think about it." "So, we're going in," I concluded. "If the griffins brought us here, it must be for a reason," added Seth, glancing at his twin sister. We entered the cave cautiously. There was no light except for what we carried in our lanterns, and it was far from enough to pierce the vast darkness surrounding us. Occasionally, we heard the sound of tiny feet stepping on dry branches or something slithering across the ground, but when we looked, there was nothing there. It felt like something straight out of a horror movie. Everyone was scared. Eventually, we spotted a giant spider crawling across the cavern ceiling on its massive web. Three soldiers bolted from the cave at that moment. "Cowards," I thought to myself, but I quickly regretted the thought when I saw the spider turning its attention to us. "Maybe I should be a little cowardly sometimes," I muttered under my breath as we ran deeper into the cave.
