"Maggie?" she asked me.

"I think she's your equivalent on Earth, Sophia," the driver answered.

"Ah, right. And thank you, Jax, for bringing her here."

*Ok... Stay calm... But what the heck is an equivalent?*

"Equivalent?" I asked.

"In the same way that there are different versions of countries on this Earth, there are also different versions of its inhabitants," Sophia explained.

*But they're identical! The same hair, the same eyes, even the same height!...*

"It all depends on the events throughout your history. They define your version."

*No doubt they look very similar, but this Sophia has a completely different attitude from Maggie. Much more authoritative and strict... And the way she dresses and styles her hair is quite different too...*

"There are many other versions of us, Sarah," Sophia continued, "and many other Earths as well."

"Ok, Ok, Ok!" I exclaimed, not really knowing how to process all that new information. "So: you're not Maggie, are you?" Sophia shook her head. "I'm not on my Earth, am I?" Sophia shook her head again. "I'm in an alternative version, where certain events changed the course of history." This time I got a nod. "And if you're the alternative version of Maggie from this Earth, does that mean there's also an alternative version of me?" This time there was no signal, but I sensed it wasn't a topic Sophia liked to discuss.

"Yes. There is," she finally concluded, without much enthusiasm. "But look, why don't we talk about that over breakfast? You must be tired now. Jax," she addressed the driver, "can you show our guest to her room? Breakfast is served at nine," she added, already turning to me.

With that, she left the room and disappeared behind the door. Shortly after, Jax signaled for me to follow him to an extremely fancy room. Once he left, I lay down on the bed and started trying to piece together the details of that crazy day. It was almost six in the morning, so I wouldn't have many hours to rest, but I still tried to organize my thoughts. However, not long after, exhaustion took over, and I ended up falling asleep in one of the armchairs.
