Hello folks,

I'm writing this rant as a AbhiRohi fanfic reader. This fanfic on Wattpad is fairly new compared to other fanfics. So I'm here to persuade you guys.

I found Wattpad because of Kaira fanfics. And during my time reading those books. I found good books and bad ones. Bad ones as in where the MC abuses the FC and later he falls in love and she forgives him. Like nothing happened and the MC becomes a new person. I remember reading a book where Kartik forcefully marries Naira to get revenge from her father. He makes her life hell and rapes her. Then his heart suddenly changes because of his friend and he asks forgiveness. And at the end, Naira forgives him. ( No hate to the author. She might have not realized how wrong that is.) When I read that book, I was 19. I knew this was wrong but I usually shrugged it off because they were Kartik and Naira.

Now as a 22 year old, I can't tolerate it regardless if it's a fanfic or not. I request the readers and writers of Abhrohi fandom to not write books like that. I'm not saying to not write about these themes. The sad reality is that they do happen. Write about them but have it instead of Naira forgiving Kartik. It should've been Naira divorcing him and healing herself. Rape and abuse is not a joke. I can't even imagine what the survivors have gone through. It's heart breaking and it isn't a story plot that should be told just for the sake of it. Do your research.

Majority of Wattpad readers are teens. And they are impressionable. I was too. They don't know that this is not okay.

Let me give you an example, when I was 15 I used to watch Ishqbaaz and I used to think Shivaay was cool and the abuse Anika faced was okay because he was gonna love her later.

Back then, I didn't realize that this isn't the truth. Shivaay was toxic and nothing justified his behaviour. For context, he blackmailed her to marry her because his bride ran away on his wedding day.

I was immature back then. But the truth is I didn't know this was wrong.

Teenagers might thing this is cool and okay, when its not. And the sad part is, many do. And as an adult and writer, I feel it's my responsibility to not show stuff that is wrong. I hope the AbhiRohi community has well written books as the years pass by.
