He likes her sister.
She has a crush on him.
What will happen, when a Rishta meant for her sister is sent to her? How will he react? How will the family react? What's their story?
As the India-Pakistan conflict continues, please be mindful of the scams circulating and please be wary and not ask Wattpad writers to update because this is NOT the right time to ask. Many authors are in the red alert areas and their most important priority is their safety. I understand many of you are in the safe zone but people near the border are at risk. Please understand the situation. And pray that this conflict gets resolved soon.
That's all for my bashan. Enjoy the chapter.

Fully climbing the pipe, I hold onto the balcony rails and push myself up. I jump onto the balcony, landing on my knees on the cement floor. Never in my life, had I thought I'd be climbing up the pipe just to meet someone. I looked up at the sky; everything was pitch black with the stars winking at me. I knock on the sliding double doors. I heard shuffling. I knocked again and whisper-yelled, "It's me, Abhimanyu."
My beauty peeked through the curtain. I grinned, waving at her. She does a double turn and slides open the door.
"What are you doing here?"
"I need to talk to you," I said. I've been avoiding her for days and now I needed to tell her something important. I got to know she was at her family's house from her neighbour and now I'm here at the perfect time.
"Okay, go on. Tell me what you're gonna say." She didn't look me in the eye while talking as she usually does.
I messed up badly. I take in her outfit. She looked gorgeous in her blue pyjamas.
"You were right," I say. I expected her to answer back with a "Yeah, I knew it" but she was nonchalant about it.
"About what?"
"About a doctor taking more money than usual with clients who have insurance."
"Oh." She wrinkled her nose. "But didn't Harsh Uncle clear it out?"
"Yeah, he did. But it's a doctor who's doing it. And he's pretty clever about it. That's why it never came into notice."
"Oh."
"Yeah." I needed to apologize. I took a deep breath in and blurted. "I'm sorry about what happened at your apartment. I shouldn't have done it."
"It's okay. Anyway, I'm going back home tomorrow. So we can discuss whatever we need to tomorrow. I'll text you the time, yeah."
"Okay. Good night."
I hit the ground while climbing down to sneak into my car and drive home.
My mind went back to the time when I found out Akshat's truth.
Flashback
I parked my car in the parking garage of the hospital. Opening the driver's door, I stepped out and closed it lightly. I pressed the key fob and started to trudge when a Mercedes drove past me and parked a little ahead of my way. I thought it was a rich patient's family. But to my surprise, it was Akshat. Wasn't he a middle-class man? How did he get that Car?
Aarohi's words came into my mind. He does work as an Obstetrician. So... is she correct?
.
.
.
Later in the day, I heard a ruckus at the receptionist.
"How can you charge us so much? There was no need for a c-section but your doctor told us to do it. What kind of service do you have? We're never coming to this hospital again!" the guy marched out."
Flashback ends
After returning home I mustered the courage to talk to Aarohi but she wasn't there.
The next evening, we were at her apartment to discuss the situation.
A platter of snacks and two mugs of coffee sat on the coffee table.
"So what do you think we should do?" Aarohi asked, sipping on the coffee with a blank face. Can she ever smile?
She looks beautiful regardless, my mind said.
"I can ask the accountant to recheck everything to know what's going on with the payments and we can chat with multiple clients who went through the same thing and then we can go over to his place and confront Akshat."
"Are you sure he is behind all this?" She asked.
"I'm ninety-eight percent sure about this."
"Awesome. Do you want to call the accountant right now?"
"Sure." I took out my cell phone, unlocked it, and went through the contacts until I found his number. I rested the phone on my ear after clicking on his contact.
The shrill sound of the bell vibrated through my eardrum. Agni's voice hit my ear.
"Hello, Abhi. How are you?" he said.
"I'm good Agni. How are you?"
"Badya. Tu bata aaj itne dino ke baad phone kia tune. Is there any issue?" ( Great. You tell me why did you call after so many days today? Is there any issue?)
"Haan. I need your help yaar..." I explained everything to him. (Yes.)
"Done. Anything else?"
"No yaar. Thanks for the help."
"Friends ko thanks bolta hai ko?" (Does anyone thank a friend?)
"Bolte hai bas humare culture mein nahi bolte." (People do but not in our culture.)
"I was being sarcastic... acha mujhe tumne kuch batana tha..." he goes on about how his mother is adamant about getting him married. (Okay, you had something to tell me...)
Crunch.
I looked in the direction of the voice. The culprit smiled sheepishly. Damn. She's too cute. She rarely expresses herself from what I know about her but when she does. Haye. She looks way more attractive. She continued to munch on the chocolate fudge cookie.
"Abhimanyu," Agni called me. I come back to the real world.
"Yep."
"Where were you zoned out."
"Nowhere. Go on. I'll talk to Aunty for you."
"Great. Bye. Have a good day."
"Bye." He cuts the call. I click on the button, close it, and pocket it.
I stood. She got up as well.
"When are you free?"
"I'll be free from one to eight pm tomorrow," she answered as she walked over to the foyer. I put on my shoes.
"Perfect. I'll come over tomorrow at your place and we can contact the victims. Until then we both contact them, okay?"
