Chapter 3

Garrus's POV

I followed Shepard down over to the com room and as stoon as we walked in. Everyone turned and looked at Shepard in shock. Kaidan freaked out, Joker started to tear up a little, Lawson just sat there smiling. Tali beemed with joy. I didn't see Liara in the room yet, so I assumed that she was possibly asleep. I eyed Kaidan suspiciously. I knew he was checking her out by the way his eyes trailed up and down her body. I've seen many human men do that and it is very disrespectful towards the women,but when I see a man check out MY Jane, I tend to get a little possessive. I grabbed her hand in my own.

"I knew you were alive all along Shepard." Tali said hugging Shepard. Shepard hugged Tali back.
"You know I wouldn't leave you Tali" she said smiling at her.

I glared as Kaidan walked up to Shepard. Shepard squeezed my hand and gave me a look telling me to behave.

"Hi Kaidan." Shepard said with a small smile.
"Shepard, You don't know how glad I am that you're alive." He said going in for a hug but I gave him a look that said don't you dare and he went for a half hearted hug instead. That's better. James gave the same type of hug to Shepard as Alenko did.

"Good to see you alive Commander."
"I'm glad to see you survived as well, James" Shepard said smiling.

"Shepard, I swear, if you die again, I'm gonna smack the absolute shit out of you" Jack said smiling and hugging Shepard.

"I'll try not to go off and die again then" Shepard said chuckling and hugging her back.

Wrex walked up to her with a slight angry face.

"Wrex! Good to see you're still up and running" Shepard said joking around. His face did not change.

"Look Wrex I'm sor-"
Wrex hugged Shepard with no words. Shepard hugged him back.
"Don't. Ever.Do.That.Again, I thought I had lost my sister for good. I can't loose you Shepard, so stay alive" Wrex said.
"I'll do my best Wrex" Shepard said smiling at him.

Joker ran straight up to Shepard and hugged her.

"J-Joker, you're disease?" Shepard asked confused.
"Fuck the disease, you defy death twice, the least I can do is run up to you myself and hug you." Joker said. He pulled away and Shepard smiled.
"Oh, Shepard, Did you see EDI out there??" Joker asked. Her smile disappeared.
"I-I guess you could say that" Shepard said looking down at the floor. Oh no....I didn't like where this was going. I put a hand on her shoulder.
She looked up at me then back at Joker. Tears started to well up in her eyes.

"I'm so sorry Joker!!" Shepard cried out and buried her face into my chest. I wrapped my arms around her and held her close as she cried.

"Ssh there there, its alright"I said trying to calm her down.

"Shepard...... What are you talking about? I-Is EDI d-dead??" He asked as Shepard continued to weep into my chest. Tears welled up in his eyes. Shepard tore away from me and held him as they both began to weep. I held them both and everyone gathered around and hugged them. It was what I heard some call it a group hug. I felt bad for Joker. I got my girl in the end and he didn't. I hated seeing Joker so upset, it made everyone upset as well. All of us split up and people were talking to Joker while me and Shepard went to talk in the corner of the room.
"Did you see her?" I asked.
"Who?"
"EDI"
"Sadly yes, yes I did." She said looking at me with sad eyes.
"I'm sorry that you had to see that" I said pushing her hair behind her ear and kissing her head.
"I've seen so many bodies, but seeing her lying there in the dirt and knowing how much she means to Joker it just killed me" she said looking out the window.

"You know I will always be with you through anything and when you need to, I'm here to talk. I love you Shepard" I said kissing her.
"I know, I love you too Garrus" she said kissing me back.

The door opened and Liara stepped into the room.
"Sorry everyone, I was asleep" she said apologising. Called it. She obviously didn't see Shepard because she isn't freaking out. She walked over to Joker and her smile quickly faded when she saw Joker's tear stained face.

"What happened Joker??" Liara asked him putting an arm around him.
"Shepard told me she found EDI but she was dead" Joker said trying not to cry again.
"I'm so sorry, wait Shepard told you that?" Liara asked looking around the room and when she caught sight of Shepard she froze up.

"By the goddess" Liara said softly. I rolled my eyes. All of a sudden, Liara stormed up to Shepard, took her face in her hands and kissed her. I figured it was just how human females and asari who were close friends greeted eachother so I didn't do anything. Everyone else in the room, including Shepard, looked shocked. Everyone switched shocked looks from me to Shepard and Liara and back. I didn't get why. Liara pulled away from Shepard, her cheeks a lavender color. Shepard's cheeks red. Was she blushing???

"Shepard....I-I'm s-so s-sorry" Liara said and she ran out of the room.
"L-Liara." Shepard said softly touching her lips. Everyone stood there still shocked.

"Don't worry Garrus, I would have let them kiss in front of me too" Alenko said nudging me and winking. What the hell was he talking about?

Why was everyone freaking out about the friendly kiss between two friends? Miranda pulled me to the side.

"Garrus, did you not see Liara make out with your girlfriend?" she asked.
"Its a friendly thing that human females and asari do, isn't it?" I asked her. Miranda laughed.
"God no, we don't just walk up to our best friends and suck face with them! We hug them. Kissing your best friend is a sign of major affection!" She said still laughing.
"Affection meaning I missed you and we are just friends??"
"No Garrus, Affection meaning I missed you and I want to get into your pants." She said still laughing.
"What're you......." It suddenly hit me. Liara kissed Shepard like I kiss Shepard, meaning she was in love with Shepard. T'soni was in love with MY Shepard.
"Oh God."
"There you go" Miranda said leaning against the wall. At that moment I remembered what Kaidan said.

"Don't worry Garrus, I would have let them kiss in front of me too"

I clenched my fists together. I was gonna snap that asshole's neck. Not only was it disrespectful and rude to human and asari females but he was talking about Liara and MY GIRL!!
"You good, Vakarian??" Miranda asked.
"I'm fine." I said walking back over to Shepard. She had stopped blushing but she still seemed shocked.
"You alright sweetheart?" I asked her.
"Y-yeah I'm fine" she said grabbing my hand and pulling me out of the room.
