Chapter 4

Shepard's POV

I pulled Garrus out of the com room and I leaned against the wall. What the actual fuck just happened? Liara kissed me out of nowhere. She just.....kissed me. I didn't have feelings for her but It just felt right. No..I loved Garrus, I will never stop loving him. Garrus walked over to me and lifted my chin up.
"I'm not angry with you Shepard. I know that you won't leave me for her." Garrus said looking me in the eyes.
"You aren't......even if you know what the kiss meant?" I asked him. He kissed me softly.
"I love you Shepard, that's all there is to it" he said pushing my bangs behind my ear.
"I love you too Garrus" I said smiling. I swear I was the luckiest person ever to be the one Garrus falls for. I kissed him and he kissed me back. He pulled me closer. I wrapped my arms around his neck and ran a hand along the side of his mandibles causing him to purr in a seductive manner. He pulled away and smirked....ish.

"Shepard, your boyfriend has some new orders for you, I hope you still have your flexibility set high" he growled seductively. I smirked and pulled him into a passionate kiss.

Garrus' POV

I got out of the bed and put my civvies back on. I looked over at Shepard, whom was asleep, and kissed her head. I had someone to pay a little visit to. I snuck out of her cabin and shut the door quietly. I walked to Alenko's room and walked in. He was at his desk reading something. He looked up when I walked in.

"Oh Hey Garrus, what can I help you with??" Kaidan asked putting his reading material down and standing up.

With no words, I walked right up to him and punched him in the face and grabbed his T-shirt.

"If you EVER say something like that about Shepard again I will snap your fucking neck." I said glaring.

"Vakarian! Dude, calm down!" Lawson said walking in and pulling my arm away from Alenko's shirt.

"Don't ever say that kind of thing around me again. Or you'll have worse than a busted lip." I said walking out of his room and heading back to Shepard's cabin without another word.

I walked into Shepard's cabin to see it was empty. Shit, I leave for 2 minutes and she's out having an adventure. I chuckled and shook my head.

I might as well go see how Joker's holding up.

I walked to the bridge and saw Joker sitting down with his head in his hands.

"Hey" I said walking over to him. He looked up at me.
"Hey Garrus.."
"I'm sorry for your..um..loss. I said. Hey I had no idea how to deal with this kind of thing. I sat beside him.
" Thanks...I guess" he said looking over at me.
"Look, it may not seem like it, but I know how it feels to loose someone who you love near and dear to your heart. When I thought Shepard was dead, I thought my life was over and that I'd never meet anyone else. Then I thought, Shepard would want me to move on and be happy. I knew she'd always be watching over me. Its hard at first but I know EDI is watching you right now and is really upset that she can't come down here and hug you. It feels like shit knowing the one you love is gone, but No matter what, she'll always be with you Joker. Its gonna take awhile to get back on your feet after losing her, but I know you'll get through this. I'm here when you need to talk, alright?" I said putting a reassuring hand on his shoulder. He looked over at me and smiled.

"Thanks Garrus, but at least we all got Shepard back, and I don't think she'll be leaving anytime soon" he said with a halfhearted smile.

I patted his shoulder lightly and got up to see Shepard leaning against the door frame smiling. I walked over to her and kissed her head.

"You are the absolute sweetest turian I've ever met." She said wrapping her arms around my neck. I wrapped my arms around her waist.
"Well someone had to cheer him up, and I guess, this time it was a turian with barely any social skills. Where'd you run off too?" I asked her. She hesitated for a moment
"I..uh went to speak with Liara" she said clearing her throat.
"Did everything go alright, you seem tense?" I asked rubbing her arm.
"Yeah, I'm fine Garrus, trust me" she said kissing one of my scars.
"Somehow, I don't believe you" I said caressing her cheek.

Shepard POV

I woke up from another nightmare and saw that Garrus was not in bed with me. I sat up and looked around. Gone. Why am I not surprised?He's probably talking to someone or working on calibrations. I should probably take opportunity to go pay a visit to Liara. I got out of bed and put my Earth outfit on and headed towards Liara's room. Liara was sitting on her bed and reading something. I cleared my throat.

"Oh, S-Shepard. Can I help you?" She asked slightly flushed.
"I wanted to talk about yesterday."
"O-Oh, Listen, I'm sorry about that. I shouldn't have done that. It was very wrong of-"
"Liara, its alright. Stop apologising. I just want to know why you did it." I said walking over to her and sitting beside her.
"Well....You see Shepard, I've always had this sort of, I guess, crush on you. I wanted to date you when we first met, but you were with Kaidan. Then when the two of you slipt up, I wanted to ask you to be my girlfriend but I was too afraid. Then Vakarian came along and swept you up. When I thought you were dead, Shepard, I was crushed. When I saw you standing there before me yesterday, I was overwhelmed and I just went for it." She explained. Oh God, this is alot to take in. Liara T'soni had a girl crush on me. Jesus, all of this is happening in not even a full 24 hours. What next someone's gonna tell me that Kaidan is pregnant or gay?
"Liara, I-"
"Look Shepard, I know that I can't have you now. I just don't want this to affect our friendship. I shouldn't have kissed you, I am truly sorry but I still want to be a close friend to you. I hope you feel the same" she said all in one breath. Woah, Liara was really flipping out over this. Well, I mean she did kiss me. I really hope that this isn't awkward whenever Garrus decides to talk about our relationship in public. I feel bad that I never noticed that Liara had feelings for me. "I apologize as well Liara, and no matter what happens between us, you'll still be a very close friend to me." I said putting a hand on her shoulder. She leaned over and hugged me. I returned the hug.
"Well, I should get back to what I was doing now" she said pulling away and grabbing her book. I nodded and went to go check on Joker.I saw Garrus sitting beside him and talking to him.
I smiled and leaned against the door frame.

"It feels like shit knowing the one you love is gone, but No matter what, she'll always be with you Joker. Its gonna take awhile to get back on your feet after losing her, but I know you'll get through this. I'm here when you need to talk, alright?" Garrus said putting a hand on Joker's shoulder. I smiled. I knew Garrus had trouble "cheering people up" since he didn't really give the "sorry for your loss" speech much, but he was doing just fine with Joker.

Garrus got up and kissed my head.

"Garrus, if it went horribly wrong, you would've known."
"Alright, but promise me that you will tell me if anything is bothering you"
"I will" I said with a soft smile. I didn't want to tell him that Liara had a female crush on me. I didn't know what he would do. I know he wouldn't go berserk and go punching people. He didn't get that jealous. I didn't want him to bring it up around her and making her feel awkward or anything. I just hoped this all would blow by, by the end of the day.
