Chapter 18

Hey guys!! So alot has been on my mind plus the matter of school and I haven't been able to get anything done so I didn't want to write a crappy chapter because I was feeling crappy but everything is clearing up so here's the date chapter I promised. Thank you so much for being patient. ^-^

Shepard's POV

We arrived at the restaurant and they seated us immediately.

"Wow, they really cleaned up the place" I said looking around.

"Well it has been awhile since we were here and you destroyed the place." Garrus said.

I gave him a glare.

"Don't give me that look, you did. I'm just being honest." He said with a chuckled.

"I'm well aware I destroyed the place. I still have the scars to prove it. Even though it was my clone's fault that the place was destroyed since well you know, she tried to kill me." I said.

He chuckled as the waiter came over to take our orders and give us wine.

"I'm well aware of our last Shore Leave. You found out you had a clone who was out to kill you and we had the greatest party of our lives." Garrus continued once the waiter left.

"Not to mention we had the best dance together." He added placing his hand over mine.

"Don't forget when you decided to plant bombs all in my apartment." I said smirking.

"Darling, I wanted to make sure you were safe. Must I tell you this every time." He asked.

I giggled slightly.

"I picking, sweetie. Lighten up." I said handing him a glass of multi-species wine.

He took it.

"Alcohol huh? This night is gonna get interesting." He said winking.

My cheeks heated up and I laughed.

An hour long conversation filled with laughs, wine and talk about our past missions past by.

We were both silent for a moment.

"You should've seen everyone, Shepard. At the end of the war. We were all so happy and relieved that the Reapers were dead and that the galaxy was saved.....until we noticed you weren't around. We searched and searched until we found your helmet and gun. We saw the particle beam and just assumed that you jumped into it. We all thought " She's gone. For real this time." Everyone was so heartbroken. Especially since we had found out we lost Anderson as well. We were so upset that Anderson had died during battle, but we were devastated the moment we lost you. We just couldn't stand the fact that our Commander and close friend hadn't been able to defeat death this time. No one rarely talked much to anyone as we did our thing around the ship and the remnants of Earth. You should've seen the old crew. Liara was in tears for 3 days straight. Tali wouldn't come out of Engineering for anything. Kaidan stayed in the Starboard for a week. Wrex destroyed about 5 buildings and no one bothered to stop him. Grunt sat in your room the entire day after we found out. It was disaster. The entire galaxy was torn apart by your death, and you know what happened with me." Garrus said out of the blue.

"All I know was that you got drunk for a week straight thanks to Wrex but I don't know what happened after that." I said curious.

"I'll tell you later, it's abit difficult to explain in the middle of a restaurant."
"Awe, cliffhanger. No fair." I said pouting.

Garrus chuckled.

"You'll be alright."

We got the bill, payed and left the restaurant to head back to my apartment.

We arrived at my apartment to see a special little surprise waiting for us...well, me.

"Hey I thought this was your place." Jeremiah said turning around to see us.

"Jeremiah, what...exactly are you doing here?" I asked glancing at Garrus.

"I just wanted to stop by to say hi, maybe have a few drinks. Who's this??" Jeremiah asked motioning to Garrus.

"This is my boyfriend, Garrus Vakarian." I said squeezing Garrus's hand in attempt to make him stop burning a hole through Jeremiah's head.

"Hi, I'm Jeremiah, an old friend of Shepard's" Jeremiah said offering a friendly hand to Garrus.

"Pleasure" Garrus said as he continued to glare at Jeremiah while he shook his hand respectively.

I could tell Garrus wanted to put a bullet between his eyes but since he was an old friend, he was behaving.

"So, I'm so glad you stopped by, Jeremiah but, we were kind of in the middle of something." I said motioning to my dress.

"Oh! Oh, I'm so sorry, I had no idea, you two were in the middle of a date. Oh, my goodness. Let me get out of your way. I guess I can catch up with you later. Again, I'm so sorry" he said before hurrying off.

We walked into my apartment and I walked upstairs to get dressed into something more comfortable.

I threw on some sweatpants and my N7 jacket with no shirt.

"Getting comfortable??" Garrus asked from behind me.

"Definitely, so what're the plans for the rest of the night??" I asked walking over to him and wrapping my arms around his neck.

"I was thinking maybe we could watch a movie or ya know put the year and a half of practice I've had to use." He said.

"How about the first option first. Then we'll see where it goes from there" I said kissing him and putting in a random movie.

I got into my bed as well as Garrus.

I curled up beside him.

"Happy Valentine's Day Shepard" Garrus said kissing my head.

"Happy Valentine's Day, Garrus" I said as I kissed his mandible.

Whew,okay, so the chapter isn't as good as I promised. I'm sorry. I just haven't been really feeling up to writing lately. Not to mention the awful case of writer's block I've been suffering from. I may or may not put the story on pause. Not for long. So don't freak out. Just long enough for me to kind of get into writing again and get some new ideas. I'm sorry for making you guys wait this long for a crappy little chapter. I'll get back to you guys later. I love you guys so much and I'm so glad that you've actually stuck around waiting on my lazy self to update. 💙💙
