Chapter 17

"Hey Aves. Welcome back."

Calum's P.O.V

5 months later

"So are we all in?" Ashton asked me once we were all reunited at Michael's after finishing our exams from our first year apart at uni. We were planning on spending a few weeks at the beach house again while we were on our holiday. We knew it couldn't be our entire break, considering we had a lot of time last summer at the house, but even a few short weeks there would be nice for a true reunion.

"All in." Marcy nodded. "But has anyone asked Ava yet?"

"No, but I can ask her." Michael spoke up. "Let me facetime her. It's early in Italy, she should answer."

A few seconds later, we all listened in on their conversation.

"Mikey! Hey bubs."

"Hiya. I have a very important question to ask you, Miss. Ava"

"Then ask away. I'm on my way into work soon, is this quick?"

"I'll make it short. So the gang & I are planning a reunion trip to the beach house again next month. Would you be in to come?"

"When are you planning on being there?"

"Well we'd be there like first of December through a recovery from our New Years celebration, so a few days into January."

"Got it. Well I come home in three weeks so I'd probably spend some time with my family once I'm home but maybe I can come meet you guys there mid-December?"

"Yes! We all want you there. We all missed each other so much being apart this past year & plus you're super far away so we want you there with us."

"So uh, does that mean Calum will be there?"
Then everyone's eyes shot over to me. She had no idea I was listening in.

"Yep, he will." Michael answered. "Would that be okay?"

"Uh yea, I actually want to see him so that's good."
"Well then this works perfect."
"Maybe this trip will go better than last time, huh?"

"Let's hope. I won't spill any more secrets."

"Thank you. I do need to head over to work now though."

"No worries. I'll talk to you later, Aves."

"Bye Mikey."

& then he turned off his phone.

"So she wants to talk to you." Claire spoke up. "That's a good thing, right?"

"Yea."

At least I hope so.

Ava's P.O.V

A month later

My year in Italy was exactly as one could wish. It was the epitome of a dream come true.

I feel like my independence grew, my materiality level increased & I honestly felt at a certain peace with my life.

Well peace except for this Calum situation.

I wanted to spend my time in Italy without Calum on my mind. I wanted to move on from him I did start off doing until I received that drunk call.

How could I now possibly move on from Calum when I knew he might possibly have feelings for me too.

Not seeing him for a year did help suppress my feelings. I wasn't as upset anymore since I wasn't seeing the hook ups happen in front of my face & I didn't have to deal with the struggle of seeing Calum & having to fight the urge to kiss him.
