Chapter 19

"I guess we have some explaining to do, huh?"

Calum's P.O.V

When I woke up, I finally realized that feeling people describe when they wake up next to the one person they care for. I understood what it was like to wake up & the first thing you see is the person that means the most to you.

Here I was, holding Ava in my arms as we shared the sofa. Her eyes were still shut, she had the littlest bit of drool around her lip, her breathing was steady but my favorite part was how she was curled up into me. She seemed angelic.

I woke up with my favorite girl in my arms. I woke up with the one girl that I'd never ever thought I'd wake up to in my arms.

This wasn't a dream.

Us confessing our feelings last night & sharing that kiss on the beach wasn't a dream although it sure felt like one.

I was playing with the ends of Ava's hair until she woke up.

"Hi." She smiled as she looked up at me. She had an instant smile too.

"Morning Aves."

"I'm still really happy. Are you, Cal?"

"Oh yea." I nodded as I ran my thumb down her cheek. "I'm really happy too."

"I don't hear anyone else. I think we're the first ones up."

"I guess so. Hey, imagine what everyone else would think if they walked downstairs & saw us cuddling here."

"They'd be very confused." Ava giggled as she curled closer into me.

"I guess we have some explaining to do, huh?"

"How do we explain this though?"

"We can just say that we talked about everything last night & we cleared up our feelings for each other & now we're just exploring them."

"Are we exploring it?"

"Yes." I leaned forward as I gave Ava a quick kiss because I couldn't go any longer without it. "We are. I mean if you still want to."

"I do." She rested her head back on my chest. "I want to see what can come from this."

After laying for a bit longer, our stomachs growled too loud to ignore any longer so we decided to move to the kitchen for some cereal where the others slowly joined us as they woke up.

No one asked us anything but I knew their silence wouldn't last for long. Everyone had to be curious.

Ava went to take a shower while the boys followed me to my room

"So now we want the real details." Ashton shut the door behind us all.

"What do you mean?"

"What I mean is you two are clearly friends again which is great but what else happened last night?"

"Yea, we need to know what happened." Michael agreed. "& you can't say nothing happened because I saw you two totally cuddled up on the sofa this morning. It was like you two slept with smiles on or something. I have never seen people look happier while asleep."

"I mean we really did talk about everything that happened. She explained how she was feeling & I explained where I was at from last summer up until now. It was good just to get everything out there."

"But did you kiss her?" Luke then asked, fairly straightforward.

"I might have."

"How was it?" Michael followed up with. "I mean she has been dreaming of that for years so how was it?"
